2019-09-14: Brewers (Lyles) at Cardinals (Flaherty) [Brewers win, 5-2]

Arcia plays the way he should play. I’m sure as heck glad he does too. It’s a game. It’s supposed to be fun. I’m sure he would love his stat line to be better but he’s still an important piece for us and his teammate seem to love him.

I partially agree with you. I don't have a problem with the way he plays. However, I also don't think he's an important piece for us. The beautiful plays he makes from time to time aren't enough to offset his many deficiencies. I think we've been more than patient and his time has come and gone and it's time to look in a different direction in the offseason.

I think there is something to team chemistry. I believe he’s a big part of that. I wouldn’t mind giving him one more year to flip the switch as he’s just entering prime years but understand if they do move on. I will say the Brewers don’t have a great track record with moving middle infielders.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Yep. To add to that, there really isn't anything in the minors that is waiting in the wings at SS, and the free agent market is pretty bare at the position as of right now.

I'm not a fan of this pitching change to be honest. I hope Guerra doesn't walk the first hitter, then give up the bomb, which I can see happening...

EDIT: I suppose walking Goldy isn't that horrible...lol

Arcia pumped the end of the season is coming up so his BA stays above .200 and his OPS will be above .600

I will be happy when Arcia is off the team.

When a player struggles as badly as Arcia, I'd like a little less playful enthusiasm and a little more grouchy self criticism. But Arcia plays with the looseness of a productive star, even though he's an easy out.

At least he isn't on your lawn.

They have to think about catcher, third. short and first (at least from the right side) in addition to some arms. One of those offensive positions is going to be subpar offensively. I'd rather it be Arcia.

Woody and Hiura were cancers to this team. I mean just look at their record since those bums got hurt.

Why is no one up in the pen?

Because they have a 3 run lead, there's two outs, and a guy on 1st. And fortunately this team's manager isn't prone to panic as quick as some fans are.

Well, to be honest, that could have went south quickly with Guerra on the mound. Having someone up in the pen is a completely normal situation for most teams in that situation.

Goldschmidt and Ozuna at bat with a guy on first and this is a one run game, or tied up pretty damn quickly the way Guerra throws meatballs at times.

It has burned him at times this year, but I respect the faith that Counsell has it this team's relievers.
