Why is he still pitching? We have 6 more pen arms we can use, not including any we used yesterday.

Because they ain't winning this game, so saving as many of and saving the best pen arms is the end goal now tonight.

I know that.

Pitch some other guys, Burnes perhaps. It’s over.

Does someone have Goldschmidts splits against the crew and the rest of the league?

Somehow his OPS coming into the game today was only 5th best against the Brewers and he's been awful against the Royals and Rangers. Go figure.

Yeah. Win 7 straight. Drop one. All hope is lost. Sheesh.

All things considered I think it's been a fairly cool headed GT. Some disappointment but no one is saying it is over.

Just from a few of the usual suspects. I mean, they weren’t gonna win out. Come back tomorrow and start a new streak.

Sure hope they can get to Flaherty tomorrow! Hopefully Lyles keeps doing what he's been doing.

At least Jimmy got $3.7M for this season. Going to be hard for him going forward to earn some serious cash.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I was hoping for 1 win in this series, this isn't the series that is going to make or break the playoffs. We need to dominate the rest of the schedule which is all bad teams. Getting one win out of this series is pretty important though.

If there ever was a series that needed the salvage game brewers to show up. It’s this one

Yeah, he's certainly going to be non-tendered now, but he did make 3.7M both this and last year by the Brewers waiting him out.

Someone will take a shot on him next year, but it may not even be on a major league deal at this point.

I agree. I just don’t know if he ever truly makes it back. But making about $10M in pro baseball, there could be worse things. Just stinks the way in which his career was derailed.

I wouldn't put it past them to bring him to spring training as a non roster guy. He has history and comfort here so may be willing to come back after a full off season and see if he can find his way back.

Here's the real danger of letting the Cardinals run away with the division:

If they're even 4 games up in the division heading into the last series of the season, which is exacly where they will be after tonight, they will have literally NOTHING to play for. That series, is against the Cubs.

They won't risk injury to one of their key players heading into the playoffs with nothing to play for. You'll see a ton of AAA lineups and AAA pitching. It doesn't bode well if you go into the last series of the season neck and neck with the Cubs for the last spot.
