I don't care how they did it, grabbing a W like this is huge. This team has beat two tough teams two weeks in a row. Yeah, both had their ugly points. Whatever. I'll take any manner of win against the Bears and Vikings.

Yep, remember the would you take 1-1 thread? I am happy as heck to get to 2-0, I figured this team would take some time to gel so not too concerned. We seem to be staying pretty healthy so far too, injuries have really derailed the Pack in the past few years. The D played a lot better than the final stats show, letting Cook run wild over us was bad but he is really good.

Pretty bizarre end to the game, if the Bronco defender doesn't touch him doesn't the game end? The receiver didn't really take a knee and we are talking about a half second, I guess I am not sure about the rule there.

It's a stupid rule put in place to really protect QB's. 2 of 3 years ago they changed the rules so that it no longer matters if the QB(or any player, but it's mainly for the QB) slides feet first or head first, as long as they're "giving themselves up," they cannot be hit and they're down as soon as they touch the ground. So basically, if it happens in the final couple seconds of a game and the team has a timeout, they're going to assume the guy is giving himself up and make sure they give the other team another play.

I didn't see when Trubisky started signalling TO, but in order for the Refs to put a second back on the clock, they basically said that the absolute moment he was down Trubisky got the Refs attention and signaled for a TO.

Robinson made it closer than he should have taking those extra two steps. The most obvious action would be for him to catch the ball and just drop. No need for a knee, just go down and make it clear you're giving yourself up.

Eagles just lost a 2 point conversion due to this rule as Wentz dove for the end zone and had his knee touch the ground without being touched. It looked like he made it to the end zone before actually getting touched.

Unbelievable, they pulled it out anyway. The Broncos just suck that much more.

I guess they don't call him Mitch "4th quarter comeback" Trubisky for nothing.

I think Mitch “Sad Trombonsky” has a better ring to it.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Some good some bad and a couple of that was really stupid moments.

In that situation you MUST kick the field goal..

Rumor has it, the Packers thought they had the first down and it was 1st and 10, not 4th and 1. I'd be curious to know if the down marker on the sideline had changed by mistake.

I just went back and watched it and that actually makes sense. I don't know if that's any better, but I was conflating the sequence where there was a 3rd and short where they lined up with Vitale in the I and pitched it to Jones and got stopped(when he probably gets it if he stretches it out) and the sequence where they went for it with 3 WR'es and a Graham at TE vs Minnesota's base D and Jones got stuffed, the later being the 4th down.

That does make sense.

I have to believe even a rookie HC would know enough to kick the FG in that situation under normal circumstance.

I’ve never felt so salty after a Packers’ win. I don’t know if that makes me a realist or just a miserable person.

Maybe it means you're not a realist. The Packers have beat the Bears who are a freakishly good defensive team and the Vikings who were the #4 D last year. They're not doing it with smoke and mirrors, Alexander, King, Clark..the young guys are playing great, Z Smith, P Smith, Amos have been everything we could have hoped for. And we haven't needed Gary to do much yet while Savage has been pretty impressive.

And we caught a glimpse of how good this offense can be. It's going to be a lotta fun when Rodgers has this offense down.

So we're a young team with a new offense, a really effective defense, a really good looking running game. Week 2? They've looked awesome to me. And I'm still holding out hope that the Packers ARE in fact one of the 5 teams to have called about Minkah!

So Wentz was diving into the endzone and wasn't contacted by a defender and his knee was down before he crossed the goal line? I'm watching now, but I missed that play the first half. If that's actually what happened, that should underline just why that's such a stupid rule. Obviously you're not giving yourself up when you're diving into the endzone head first.

And here's the thing, that rule is supposed to be applied equally to all players. They'd NEVER consider a RB down without being touched in that scenario. So how does the ref figure out when a player is "giving himself up?"

You realize it's a subjective thing, right? When to go for a TD instead of kick a FG? There's NOTHING wrong with going for it there. Absolutely nothing.

The play call is the issue. Again, this is one of those where when Belichek or Peterson does it, it's them being bold, aggressive and not scared and "that really translates to the team." When another coach tries and doesn't get it, it's stupid.

The Bears offense is junk

I don't think it's good, but I do think the Bronco's also have a very good defense. They've got as good of a edge rushing duo as anyone with Chubb and Von to start with, two guys who can dominate one on one matchup's and a lock down corner in Harris Jr.

Next week against the Broncos will basically be the 3rd week in a row where we'll play a Plus defensive team with a suspect QB.

Thanks for keeping things positive.

I’m not the type of fan to pound the table for trades, but if the Packers can pick up any deals in the Dolphins fire sale, I’m all for it.

Yeah, maybe it's that I was pretty pessimistic about the first half of the season. I really thought 3-6 could be possible when looking at the schedule. The offense has looked miserable at times, but almost every time they looked really bad, it was in large part because they just didn't seem to be on the same page. So I'm hoping we can keep everything else going and then they start clicking and who knows, #14? I remember the year they won it I was thinking that they should be good, but the next year they'd really be good.

And yeah, I'm not usually a fan of trading away top picks, but I want this one almost as bad as I wanted Mack...which is obviously ridiculous, but he just seems like a perfect fit for the Packers. You watch his rookie highlights and he just seems like really smart player. The way he finishes all the way through, trying to knock the ball out, reading those WR'er screens and stuffing them, flying in on run blitzes. And then even playing outside.

Vegas has us at +400 to get him with the Steelers and I think the Eagles as the two favorites. Maybe the Seahawks. Those are the four teams I've seen and then there are some Pats rumors. I just feel like if the Dolphins really aren't asking for a 1st, Gute has to make this happen. I'm for it if they are, but if they want a second and say Josh Jackson...kinda the forgotten guy around here, but a second-year Corner with a lot of talent, that trade should be done.

I have almost no confidence they actually do it, but man...it'd have me that much more excited about the Packers young team. They have to be aggressive. Times running out. We're not getting a 3rd straight historically great QB. You gotta win a couple titles in the next 4-5 years, so go get the defensive stud.

Absolutely. 3 teams, good enough defenses to win...to varying degreess and they just can't find them. The Bears gave up a ton to move up ONE spot to get Trubisky with Mahomes and Watson on the board. Though I really didn't think either were gonna be good NFL QB's. Especially Mahomes. I thought he was just a chuck and duck guy. The only way I could have been more wrong about a young player is if I'd have said, "yeah, Giannis at best will be a decent defender at the end of the bench."

Flacco won a SB, became the highest-paid QB in the league...then did nothing. He's still eating out off that one post-season run when he looked good. He got shipped out for another guy I didn't think could make it as a QB who's making me look like an idiot in Jackson.

And then the Vikings give Cousins the biggest contract ever by far. Guarantee 90+ for 3 years. That has to be just KILLING Vikings fans. That team is loaded with talent. They've got the D, they've got the skill players. They just need a QB...and preferably one who can move a little bit.

How badly do you think the Vikings just wish they'd have signed Keenum to a 4 year 60 million dollar deal right about now? He leads them to a 13-3 season, to the NFCCG, he's mobile enough to keep plays alive with that OL...has greate chemistry. But nope. Gotta go get the shinny QB on the Free Agent Market! They could have Keenum and then have spent 15 million a year on the OL and probably be the SB favorites right now...but they didn't!

I just find it funny. All three teams have defenses, they've just totally whiffed at QB, especially our two rivals which is why I find it so awesome to watch. Can you imagine the pure hell we Packer fans would have to deal with if they'd have picked Mahomes? Mack and Mahomes? That's it, Rodgers, just quit now, not a chance you're touching that team. But no, they go for the guy from North Carolina. Who's not even bad, it's just they passed up on a Rodgers like talent.

I want to know what this guy has to do before teams are going to actually want him to play for them. I almost feel bad for him. He's gotta be looking around at these marginal QB's getting 30 million a year and think, "what the hell am I doing wrong." Dak's gonna get 35 or so and I'd take Keenum over him...put him in Dallas, I think the Cowboys are even better.
