2019-09-10: Brewers (Anderson) at Marlins (Hernández) [Brewers win 4-3 -- Yelich suffers season ending knee cap fracture]

Eye Black
What happened to Yelich?

Fouled a ball off his leg. For some reason it hurt more than it probably should so he exited the game after sitting on the ground for awhile.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Just saw the thread. I didn't see what happened to Yelich, but the optimistic in me is saying it's just a bad bruise and will be better soon. I was slammed knees with someone playing basketball and couldn't put weight on it for about 20 minutes. I was back playing later in the day.

We'll see.

I'm convinced he will not only be out the reminder of this year but miss next year and then come back Jimmy Nelson style so we end up recouping nothing for a guy who was the best player in the game for two years.
but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

If you're a home team announcer, it's NOT THAT MUCH TO ASK to have the guy pronounce guys names right. It's so crazy that Jerry works with this team every day and doesn't know how to pronounce guy's names....

Pet peeve....

I

I will never complain about Bill Schroeder again after being subjected to Auggie for a few days.

So what you're saying is that your outlook isn't exactly rosy? ;)

I'm jaded.

Similar scenario happened to Ben Sheets, causing him to miss his first year of free agency, and keeping the Brewers from getting a 1st round compensation pick back. Crappy luck like that dooms teams who don't have a huge amount of resources.
