I always think back to this date when laughing at the Marlins attendance.

The Marlins hosted the Brewers in perfect weather. A series high 11,379 showed up.

In Milwaukee, we had 7 inches of show that day, a record for the date.

However, snow plows were out clearing row by row of parking at Miller Park, as the line of cars waited to get in. 16,375 people (a series low) were eager to get inside to watch the Indians and Angels play ball. That's 5,000 more than the game in Miami.

IMO the Marlins have some of the smartest fans in MLB. One of the few fanbases that refuses to fall for repeated BS from ownership. Tons of baseball fans in Miami but smart enough not to throw money at Loria and now Jeter.

But could poor attendance jeopardize things? The owners might say "screw it" and move the team?

It's hard to call the current product a major league baseball team.

The new owners immediately embraced a tanking strategy (with plenty of doublespeak to the media) which was the absolute worst move when the biggest issue with the fans was a lack of trust due to previous tanking/firesales/lies.

Going to a game there must be peaceful but also boring as can be. What a lousy atmosphere for a pro sport.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
