2019-09-07: Cubs (Darvish) at Brewers (Gonzalez) [Brewers win, 3-2 -- Walk-off win in 9th]

Eye Black
No, it's still over for the season. We gotta stop going back and forth on this every time they win a game. Just enjoy them beating up on the Cubs and knock them out of the playoffs.

:laughing As much as I don’t think this team sniffs the postseason it’s definitely not over. They have a punchers chance still and it begins with winning tomorrow and getting it down to 2 games with 20 to play.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

If they win tomorrow they are 2 back with 17 of 20 vs teams under 500. The season isn't over by any stretch. Maybe not likely but still a shot

No one is going back and forth. I said before the series that if they win 3 out of 4 against the Cubs they have a shot. If they win tomorrow they will have done that. If not, oh well. Tomorrow is their season as far as I'm concerned, but 2 GB with 20 to play would not be insurmountable.

I mean, you do you but it wasn't over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor and it ain't over for the Brewers.

Dimondbacks in the way though too. They have a shot if they win tomorrow.

Maybe not going back and forth but how many times have we gotten our hopes up after one win and then be reminded that we are fooling ourselves and this team isn't a playoff caliber team after a loss the very next day?

They’re not playoff caliber until they are. That’s why they play the games. Ain’t over until the fat lady sings.

Lady and gentlemen, the DBacks are red hot now, but unlikely to remain that way. It’s their streak now, but they will cool. But they will probably still be there at the end close to 86-87 wins. We haven’t streaked yet, maybe too injured, but, I believe we will, it just might be the last 11 or 12 games. If we can win tomorrow’s game, it’ll be easier. Lester will be tough, but we have Houser.

Funny how when we say stuff like "We can't lose to the Marlins" or "we can't lose to this team, they started a sunday lineup", the Brewers started Spangenburg, Arcia, Shaw, and Gamel today, and the Cubs, a team I'm SURE their fans said "oh, we will for sure beat them today", lost to us.

I hope our guys don't start looking at that easy schedule and taking it for granted.

After this big series vs the cubs come florida and thatb is scary for the brewers fans

There will be more Brewers fans there so they will hear more cheering for them than the home team. Watching Marlins games (we get them all down here) is rather sad. NOBODY goes to these games so the stands are practically empty.

17 out of 20 against teams under .500? It’s definitely over then. The Brewers would have a better chance with 17 out of 20 against the Dodgers.

Yeah, Mtrebs or whatever was looking for an argument when I said they were in playoff contention when they were 4 back a week or so ago. I don't believe this is a particularly good team or one that's capable of going on a run like last year....but who saw that D-backs run coming?

I'm in about the best place I think a Brewers fan can be at this point. If they don't make it, oh well. Everything went wrong. If you'd have said before the year, Knebel, Jeffress, Burnes, Wahl, Shaw, Aguilar, Peralta, Chacin.. among others would contribute nothing to this team and the one guy who was having a really good year, Woodruff, would miss the last 2 months and then said, "but we'll be within 2 games of a playoff spot on Sept 8th," it'd be hard to be upset about that.

Who said I was looking for an argument? I said I was surprised that people still thought they had a chance. I didn’t mean technically. I meant realistically. I’m glad they’ve been playing better and they’ve gotten themselves close again. I still don’t believe they’ll sustain this and break through to get one of the wild card spots. I hope I’m wrong, but that’s just how I feel. If they do end up making it, I don’t feel they’ll make it as far as last year. Again, I hope they prove me wrong. I’m just not expecting it.
