"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

I would guess that they leave Rasmussen in AA to start next season. If he does well the first month or so, I could see him bumped to AAA. Would love to see his BB/9 drop to around 3 though. If he can do that, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in Milwaukee at some point next season.

Luis Contreras, who started the year in the independent United Shore League, finishes the year with an appearance in AA for Biloxi.

Carlos Luna, who had never appeared above Rookie ball, finishes the year with a start in AAA. He's followed by Karsen Lindell, who started the year out of baseball and previously had never pitched above Rookie ball as well.

Actually a really nice start for Luna. That's got to feel good for him.

I suppose health and potential role all play into how they handle Rasmussen. Only 74 innings this year, so they'll have to plot his course in the spring if starting is at all in the cards.
