Jimmy Nelson: 3IP, 0BB, 5K
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

It'd be so great if he went back to the delivery he used pre-injury and could get the same type of movement he had then. I'm guessing he changed his delivery to prevent future shoulder issues. I don't know, I really couldn't see the difference in the delivery before and after, but the difference in the FB movement was very clear.

Recent signs are encouraging. That lineup he went through included Albert Almora and David Bote. He fanned them both.

Well, aside from just being a Brewers fan, I hope for Nelson's sake he can get everything figured out so he can go on to have a successful career. I think it's maybe 50/50 he's back with the Brewers next year as I don't know if we'd give him another 3.5 million after the last couple years, but someone certainly will and even if it's with someone else, I like Jimmy. Seems like a good dude, a hard worker.

I hope he's back with us next year. In the decision of whether to bring back Jimmy, Stearns needs to forget about what happened in June with regards to Jimmy Nelson. The decision on Nelson returning to Milwaukee or not needs to come from how Jimmy finishes out the season, what all the staff is seeing from him, and what they feel his future might be. If they were to let him go now that he's come this far, and he proceeds to have a good year with somebody else, that decision is going to stink like hot garbage.

Basically what I'm saying is if you're Stearns, then if you don't bring back Jimmy you had better be very certain of what you are doing.
