Box, Game One: Biloxi 3, Mobile 2

LHP Cameron Roegner allowed 12 baserunners in three-plus innings, but with thanks to RHP Tyler Spurlin for stranding two of his men (inherited with none out), only two runners crossed home plate.

Box: AZL Brewers Blue 9, AZL Rangers 8

The multitude of fans on hand got their free money's worth -- 28 combined hits, 35 baserunners (not including any from the game's seven errors) and this walk-off:

AZL Brewers Blue Bottom of the 9th

Andre Nnebe homers (1) on a fly ball to center field.

***

Been waiting for the stateside breakout game from OF Reidy Mercado since his promotion from the DSL. Triple as part of a three-hit game here.

***

Must have been a quality but costly catch here:

AZL Rangers Top of the 4th

Osleivis Basabe flies out to center fielder Arbert Cipion.

Injury Delay.

Defensive switch from left field to center field for Reidy Mercado.

Defensive Substitution: YongKang Kou replaces center fielder Arbert Cipion, batting 2nd, playing left field.

Heriberto Hernandez grounds out, third baseman Luis Silva to first baseman Kevin Hardin.

Randy Florentino flies out to left fielder YongKang Kou.

Cipion had hit his 2nd pro home run in his first at-bat.

***

36th round RHP Keegan McCarville with a 0.00 ERA over his last 11 innings (five outings, 15 K's). Still waiting on the flight to the Pioneer League.

Box: AZL Brewers Gold 4, AZL Indians Blue 2

Tough to put a real rise in their winning percentages, but nice to see some Maryvale success as of late.

LHP Franklin Hernandez (37th round, 2018) made his season debut with two scoreless innings, good for him. Don't believe we know what held him back in 2019.

Clutch pitching by the Gold Crew when they needed it:

Indians Team RISP: 3-for-18.

Indians Team LOB: 16.

All nine Brewer hits were singles, but nine is a good number.

Only two walks and 15 K's, not good numbers.

A win is a win, though.

Box: DSL Brewers/Indians 6, DSL Red Sox #2 Squad 2

Good enough - the three Brewer pitchers are the first three you see in the box score. They combined for six scoreless innings (despite seven walks).

Check out the 2-3-4 spots in the co-op order, all Brewers - combined 8-for-13, and HR and double within a 3-for-4 day for infielder Elian Gonzalez (who DH'd here).

Lesson learned for the co-op team as of late -- pop somebody in the DH spot for a day and watch the production.

Box: DSL Diamondbacks #2 Squad 5, DSL Brewers 4

Nice to see strong 18-year-old RHP Fernando Olguin bounce back from some recent struggles (5 IP, 1 R, 0 ER). The bullpen failed in a four-run Diamondback 7th.

Four Brewers reached base twice.

DSL D-backs2 Top of the 5th

Defensive Substitution: Jesus Parra replaces left fielder Rafael Martinez, batting 8th, playing left field.

No apparent reason for that swap.

Box: Great Falls 1, Rocky Mountain 0

Alternative box includes inning-by-inning linescore

Run scored in the 4th...

LHP Brock Begue the tough-luck loser.

Great Falls Bottom of the 4th

Cabera Weaver doubles (10) on a sharp line drive to left fielder Michael Wilson.

Kelvin Maldonado called out on strikes.

Harvin Mendoza singles on a line drive to center fielder Carlos Rodriguez. Cabera Weaver to 3rd. Harvin Mendoza to 2nd.

Luis Curbelo out on a sacrifice fly to left fielder Michael Wilson. Cabera Weaver scores.

Luis Mieses grounds out softly, third baseman Bryan Torres to first baseman Ernesto Martinez.
