2019-08-14: Twins (Gibson) at Brewers (González) [Brewers win, 6-5 -- Trent Grisham's go ahead 3-run HR in 8th inning propels comeback]

Eye Black
welp ... suppose the starters have been so good they were due for a stinker.

You wouldn't have expected it from Gio though...Anderson...yes, Hauser...definitely... Lyles...would be the most likely, Gio?? No...he never loses his command like this and walks this many guys. Incredibly disappointing...you sweep Pittsburgh, take 2 of 3 against Texas, now give those two games right back..that shouldn't happen...at home.

What are you talking about? He averaged 4.21 walks per 9 just last season, he's always walked a fair amount of guys his entire career (3.74bb/9 for his career)

Somewhat of an intentional walk there. Let’s see how it turns out.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

one of those CC can't win situations. does the smart responsible thing and goes with the hot hand and might still get boned. We can rip the manager all we want but essentially he has no good options these days and just has to go with the least bad option

COME ON BIG SASSY!

On a serious note, I'd try to preserve his last option year. Either stay the course for a couple weeks and wait for reinforcements in September or go the phantom IL route.

If they option Gamel they wouldn't actually use an option since he would likely be called up September 1 and be down less than 20 days. It would actually be decent roster management.

Ah nice, thanks. Intriguing option in that case.
