The Cain contract is going to be a bad deal isn't it?

The guy was a legit star last year. If they can get his bat back to league average, while maintaining his elite defense, it's a good contract. That is a big if though.

Betting on an age 34 bat resurrection is not a good bet. Faria is not impressive. Game over.

For the life of me, I still cannot figure out why DS didn't do more at the deadline...even if he didn't go BIG, he still could have done more to improve this team. One example...instead of letting the Cubs get Castellanos, how about giving up a middling propspect(like they did), and acquire him yourself and play him at 1B against LHP. How much better would the lineup look then??

I had very high hopes for Faria. They are dwindling. Getting a big Wes Obermueller vibe fro him. And that is not good.

When a team like the Rays is willing to give you one of their pitchers for a struggling, non-versatile 1B, be very suspicious.

At this point I would advocate giving him what the same rejuvenation medicines Barry bonds was taking in his late 30s. That might be the only chance we have

I think we all knew that from the beginning, but I don't think most thought it would happen this soon. I was hoping to get 3 decent years from him, knowing full well years 4 and 5 we'd regret.

Twins get back to back doubles when guys cut down their swings and just put the bat on the ball. Both pitches weren't strikes either. Hopefully the Brewers hitters took notice.

Andy Haines should have been preaching this a long time ago if he hasn't.

He's never played 1B. Like ever.

I'm sort of surprised a struggling, non-versatile 1B was worth much of anything, actually. Faria may not be much, but there are guys Aguilar's caliber out there for free.

He needs to join Chris hook on the unemployment line at the end of the season.

Then they get Lucroy for free. It's been a rough year for Stearns. He needs to self reflect. He needs to be better. He has done a great job but this year has been a disaster.

I don't disagree, but given how bad we are already against lefties, he probably had more value to us for staying in it this year than anything we'll get from Faria. We kind of exasperated something that is already a problem.
