very solid outing! Great rebound after giving up the bomb

I’ll go a step further > tremendous outing! Don’t think he’s going back to the pen any time soon. Brewers knew what they were doing keeping him in the rotation. Kinda makes our rotation a little more formidable.

So, does Houser still belong in the bullpen?

I don't know, why don't we see if the pen that lacks him can hold the lead without him, since that is part of the narrative?

Houser was 0-5 with a 6.82 as a starter and had a 1.47 as a reliever entering play tonight. One single outing is hardly going to change anyone's mind.

Sure...maybe if he pitches like this the rest of the year..but if he pitches like he did against the Cubs...

Looks like with Grisham and hiura our there it’s time to strike on the pitching market this offseason. We’re developing a young core of hitters again and don’t let the dang pitching fail again like in the braun/ fielder days.

Ya ya, 4 pitches with command should do the trick.

Exactly...been saying this...spend BIG in FA on pitching this off season.

It's pointless to argue over which option Counsell should go with, let's be honest, without Hader he has no good options.

Just gotta try to match up the best we can and hope we get a good day out of the ones we use. There's no magic formula.

Cubs rotation with a very april brewers like dumpster fire string of starts the last turn through...something to keep an eye on with that group of vets who aren't exactly looking strong

And that's what I don't get...Lester got absolutely lit up by Oakland his last start, Hendricks gets lit up against the Reds tonight, yet...against the Brewers, those guys almost always look like Cy young. I don't get it, at all.
