2017 25th round LHP Karlos Morales turns 20 years old today. He has seen limited time in 2019 in Maryvale, but has pitched as recently as Wednesday.

Rookie Dominican Summer League RHP Brailin Rodriguez has been toiling all summer as a 16-year-old, but the Dominican native turns 17 today.

I am not in the "send down/DFA someone and bring Freitas up" camp, but my goodness is he on a tear right now. 1.391 OPS for the month of August heading into tonight's game, and he's 2-3 with a HR so far.

September 1st can't come soon enough.

Looking at the gamecast for San Antonio, I'm guessing Padres fans are in the same boat with Ty France. My goodness, he's hitting .404 and OPSing over 1.250 with 26 homers in about as many ABs as Freitas. Looks like he had some time up earlier this year and didn't set the world on fire, and he's blocked by Machado and Hosmer.

Technically, you don't need the DFA part, not sure everyone realizes Freitas is on the 40-man roster. But you're also right in that if someone were to be dropped who does not have options left, a DFA would be necessary.

Brewers need a road doubleheader so that Freitas could at least be 26th man for a day.

Would love to hear the front office discussions about him, at least how 2020 factors in.

Box: El Paso 10, San Antonio 9

Thomas Jankins four scoreless innings in minor league baseball's least-friendly pitcher environment. Corbin Burnes, not so much.

Tyler Saladino on base four times, including a home run and double.

Worth the read for the Burnes and Freitas mentions...

Say what you will about the prospect makeup of this club, Top 30 lists, etc., one thing they know how to do is win. A lot.

There is an update on the playoff race after Clinton's Win and the Rattlers loss. Hear the clubhouse comments from Rios and Matt Erickson, too."

First of all, deja vu, anyone?

The same two teams played to the same exact score the day before. First time in baseball history, Stats Inc.?

The island Rangers scored nine in the top of the 9th to make it 15-1, before the co-op kids plated two to make box score history. Rangers - 15 runs on nine hits.

Good news? The two Brewer pitchers each threw a scoreless inning, don't blame them.

RHP Starling Javier's inning was eventful three walks (33 free passes, three HBP's in 17.2 IP in '19), but he survived. 3.28 is a good ERA number, not a good WHIP figure.

Nothing of note offensively.

Mound Visit.

Pitching Change: Santiago Elizondo replaces Braden Webb.

Danny Casals reaches on a fielder's choice, fielded by shortstop Daniel Castillo. Alex Hall scores. Andre Nnebe scores. Arbert Cipion to 2nd.

Luis Silva strikes out swinging.

Offensively, eight players reached base twice, despite what appears to be a bland offensive box score.
