This is where Counsell has messed up a lot this year IMO...a guy like Freddy comes in, gets two quick outs..then walks a guy...as SOON as he walked that first guy, he should have someone up..but he has always seemed to wait to long this year to get guys up, and whoever is on the mound has to face a batter or two more than they should, and the inning blows up.

When you need at least four relievers every game you have to be a little judicious about how often they have guys throwing in the bullpen.

CC is usually taking guys out early, if anything.

His starters, yes, I agree, but not his bullpen guys. I never felt good about that inning the minute I saw Peralta on the hill. He seems to have no rhyme or reason when he uses guys this year. To me, that's Albers's inning, Pomeranz in the 7th, then Josh. To me, those are my three most reliable BP arms right now.

Remember two weeks ago when some people thought Peralta was going to provide a second dependable option in the bullpen.

He has since shown why any expectation that the Brewers can be successful using last year’s formula is unrealistic.

He got that save and looked absolutely electric. He's pretty much looked like crap since then.

But his history says he is prone to wildness, so getting overly excited about one game (which ended on a fly ball to the warning track) seemed kind of silly.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

There was a lot of excitement about Freddy Peralta, reliever. But in his first four appearances of August he has walked eight batters in three innings. Six of the eight came with two outs including three tonight.

Same problem he had as a starter more often than not...as a reliever at least he isnt in the game long enough for hitters to time his fastball and also shell him.

Yup. September can’t get here fast enough.

An expanded roster isn’t going to do any good if all it does is offer a greater number of unreliable relievers. Last year the Brewers went into September with Knebel, Hader, Jeffress, Burnes, and Soria. This year they have Hader (who hasn’t been so great lately) and then a bunch of question marks.

That catch by Moustakas is exactly why Brian annoys me. It wasn't some great, amazing catch. It was fairly routine, you don't need to sell it as more than that.

Just for that he's totally going to take the next two weeks off to cover the National Disc Golf Summer Invitational.
