Two more left handed starters this weekend. It's almost as if other teams are looking at the brewers roster and thinking these guys are so left handed why not stack the deck? Seriously we hold a wildcard right now. You have to do something to address this issue. Still can't believe Cubs got Castellanos for peanuts. He would look fantastic in this lineup. I hope keeping all of these extra lefty bats doesn't cost us a shot at the playoffs.

Opposing teams are going to keep throwing out every crap lefty (like Allard) they can find against the Brewers until they start hitting them better. I'd do the same thing if I was the opposing manager. They need Yelich back hitting lefties, and Pina, Braun, Hiura, Cain and Arcia have to do their jobs. Getting Frietas up at some point probably wouldn't hurt either.

I agree that teams are likely lining up their LHP to face the Brewers, but it is worth keeping in mind that not all of the Brewers left-handed hitters carry significant platoon splits. During much of his career in the minor Trent Grisham has produced fairly even batting lines against both RHP and LHP, and during his major league career Ben Gamel has actually performed better against LHPs with a .749 OPS against them versus a .711 OPS facing RHP.

Looks like Perez is back and Shaw is out. Common sense move all things considered. Hopefully he found some patience laying around in San Antonio.

Using raw stats for AAA, and the PCL in particular, makes very little sense this year. That stat line looks amazing, but it's "only" a 115 wRC+. Still pretty good, but you'd expect an experienced MLB hitter to be better than the league average in AAA.

Wow. Surprising on Yeli. This seemed more like maintenance type stuff of something very minor but we're up to 4 days already. Might be more worrisome than we thought. Knowing him though, he'll be back tomorrow and just raking right away

Interesting note that Braun has played in 107 games this season.... Yelich? He has played in 104. Braun has really been a consistent bat for us all season long.

How many of Braun’s games have just been as a PH though? Glad he’s had a healthy season, but think GP would be a little misleading.

Braun has 82 starts, Yelich has 102.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Rangers dredging up Allard from the minors to start against the Brewers is a perfect example of why comparing the Brewers record against lefty and righty starters can be misleading. I think if you look at a list of the lefty starters the Brewers have faced, there is a higher percentage of scrubs than on the list of righty starters.

I hate the term "recalled" for when someone is promoted from the minors to the big league club. If it's a player's first time in the majors, they can't be "recalled."

I guess they were technically "in the majors" when they were added to the 40 man and had to be optioned down sometime in spring training, so they would be recalled even if they haven't played in the regular season at the MLB level.

My mind also immediately goes to the "remembered" definition of "recalled," which makes me laugh internally.

This thought makes me want to throw something in frustration: Why are baseball players being promoted when they are recalled, which means they did well, but contaminated food and cars and stuff is being demoted since being recalled means they were defective? The same thing means the opposite. HOW CAN THIS BE?!
