While I'm not as high on Pina as PinaMadness, I'm fine with going with a Pina/Freitas/Nottingham type trio next year and using the Grandal money to upgrade elsewhere.

I highly doubt the Brewers go with Pina and someone on the roster. They showed last year with Kratz they dont view Pina as more than a platoon at catcher and they dont seem to believe in Nottingham much. I coulld see them bringing a cheaper player than Grandal but I would be shocked if the catcher position was Pina and Freitas or Nottingham

I'd try to keep Grandal here - get an extension. There's no better options in the minor league system other than David Fry, who is at full-season A.

I'd try to keep Grandal and Moose and still upgrade other places(like starting pitching).

Right now the Brewers starters have eras ranked 17 (Anderson), 20 (Davies), and 21 (Woodruff) for nl pitchers with over 90 innings -too bad two are on the IL. Gio doesnt have enough innings but would be 13th.

That third time through the order thing is real, folks. There's reasons we don't typically ride starters.

Although Moose is a total butcher at 3rd tonight.

The sad part is that I'm not sure if a gassed Chase seeing the order for the 3rd time is any worse than Junior Guerra(who is now warming).

Bryan Reynolds is still annoying.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

That's a fair point. Guerra is pretty bad.

Bryan Reynolds appears to be a stud. Jeez.

Did he have much fanfare coming into the year? I know the Pirates don't get much pub, but he seemingly came out of nowhere to be a complete slugger.

He has always hit really well in the minors but I don't know if he's every been on any top prospect lists or anything. 2nd round pick of the Giants - traded as part of the McCutcheon deal. Probably wish they'd have traded Duggar instead.
