Grandal has hit well but that last at bat makes me wonder why Stearns couldn't have gotten something for him in a trade. He's gone next year anyway. Freitas should be up right now.

Shaw's hit wasn't a line drive but a hit is a hit for him this year. Take what you can get.

Good thing Counsell didn't pinch-hit for Hauser in the 5th after getting a one-out single from Shaw!

We only have Braun, Hiura, Cain, Pina, etc. available for that today.

It probably would've helped if Houser even once attempted to lay down a bunt.

The fact that I have Direct TV means I have been spared this implosion. Didn't think I would be happy about that but they have only won 1 game since the blackout.

Huh??? DirecTV still has Fox Sports WI on it. It's only Dish Network and Sling (I believe) that have removed Fox Sports WI while they are in contract disputes.

SS should definitely be on the 2020 "need" list. Seeing as how our current MLB SS isn't very good and we traded away his only possible replacement.

If we want to compete while Yelich is still around, A LOT more than SS is on our need list. We are actually good on OF, but other than that we need answers at every infield position besides 2B. Also need to sign 2 mid-to-upper rotation pitchers and probably 2-3 decent bullpen arms. This offseason will need to be busy if we want to compete within the next 3 years. We have the worst farm club in the MLB and a lot of holes. I've heard people say our window is multiple years, but in my opinion we have to make the move within the next 2 years, otherwise Yelich is probably on the trading block prior to his final season. This season may likely go down as one of the most disappointing in team history as we were on the right track to making the push, but Stearns pushed the wrong buttons and we were hit with some significant injuries. #SameOldBrewers, I guess. :(

DS made a huge mistake not moving Grandal and Moose.

He has made a bunch in the last 8 months or so.

Starting with the coaching staff.

... And letting Miley go, putting too much faith on three unproven starters with no decent fall-back options, and not responding early in the season to significant injuries in the bullpen.

I’m beginning to think that bullpen success is so statistically noisy that it may be a fool’s errand to invest serious resources in that area. You just can’t count on anybody year to year. It was not foolish at the time to favor internal options over major outside additions. This criticism is revisionist history.

Have you seen our bullpen? If you aren't going to bring in any outside people we might as well trade Yelich, Hiura, and Woodruff this offseason.

Edit: To clarify, if we get some decent starters we could move some of our starters to the bullpen. So I actually agree that we don’t need to break the bank on closer type guys.
