Moose is 2 for 3 today, not bad for a slumping hitter...

He’s a slumping hitter. A bunt and a 2 out, nobody on single to left doesn’t change that.

The fact that he is bunting with a runner on base and 2 outs tells me that he knows he is struggling.

Yep. Hopefully that last slap single is a good sign he’s coming out of it. He’s been bad. Very bad as of late.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Chase is gone after this inning no matter what right?

Isnt that how CC has been playing him?

That's what I expect but I hope I'm pleasantly surprised and CC let's Chase go deeper today since he's rolling

Sheesh I hope not. He's pitching really well today, and only at 81 pitches. No need to have to worry about pinch hitting for him. I'd throw him out there for another inning for sure. I mean, I'm sure they are itching to get Pomeranz out there, but he can wait till tomorrow.

Anderson is bad when hitters get a third PA against him so it is the right move to remove him. Though today maybe a different story with an extra innings game on Tuesday.

Maybe try and get Chase to go 6 but have someone up and ready to go if anyone gets on base.

I added his July line to my last post to quantify how bad he has been.

Unfortunately, Grandal and Thames had pretty weak Julys too. Grandal kept his OPS somewhat respectable (.726) with walks, but his power has disappeared. Having an OBP higher than your slugging percentage is not what you want from a guy who is supposed to supply power.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

A month ago Bailey gave up 1 ER in 19 innings in three consecutive starts. He gets hot once in a while.

2 runs in 5 plus against Bailey.......offense continues to struggle against bad pitchers.

Yep ... if they are going to go on any sort of run, the hitters have to wake up. Offense has been poor for a full week now. Can't keep on depending on the pitching to keep the other team off the board.

Doesn't he have multiple no-no's or perfect games? Or some combination...

He's hung around this long for a reason, and he was acquired by a contending team for a reason...

Thank you for posting in between innings, Homer.

Good luck in your next start.

Gets boring on the end of the bench.
