That was a terrific AB by Braun. Very patient, although it did look like he couldn't quite get around on a pitch or two that were right in his wheelhouse. Still, he stayed alive until Bailey hung one, and he got enough of it to squib a hit.

Say Arcia plays 8 or 9 out of 10 games. How much does starting Moose or Shaw at SS hurt you for 1-2 games out of 10?

 

Hard to quantify......in any game a crucial play that isn't made could be the difference......or not......I just don't think they are going to be comfortable double switching without a true backup SS.......but we will see.

 

I'm all for starting Moose at SS and Shaw at 3B. Get a lead and make defensive changes late.

It really was. He took the garbage. HE defended the plate on a pitch that could have been a strike and it worked.

 

If he keeps that up he'll go on a tear.
