Wow, Saladino optioned down. Moose is the backup SS.

Let's get crazy indeed!

Looks like Arcia isn't getting a day off for awhile.......unless they really say to hell with it and throw Moose out there to start a game.

I can't even imagine how bad a Shaw, Moose, Hiura and Braun infield would be defensively........lol.

I have pretty much no doubt that Hernan Perez will be back up tomorrow.

Who goes out to make room for Grisham?

Saladino and T Williams optioned to make room for Grisham and Pomeranz. Still waiting on the corresponding 40-man move for Grisham.

Jacob Barnes has been designated for assignment.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Are we sure Grisham can handle CF? I didn't understand him to be a great OF defender...and Oakland has a pretty big outfield.

Maybe we should have traded Gamel yesterday, he seems the odd man out here. Pretty much have Shaw getting the nod over him.

I tend to think Grisham might be only up for the day to be honest. Or for a couple days. Gamel isn't going anywhere. I kinda figure on one of him or Shaw getting sent down tomorrow for Perez.

I still am a bit concerned with Grisham's defensive ability for the game today...this seems like a bad idea. Would be better to play Yelich in CF and Thames in RF with Braun DH.

I think they view Gamel as a bench guy and I don't disagree. He is a great weapon to have later in games using him at the right times.

[sarcasm]By the way, does anyone know who our backup SS is?[/sarcasm]

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Gamel is probably in the perfect role. He really doesn’t hit well enough to be an everyday corner outfielder. The fact that he has had some big hits recently kind of hides the fact that he hasn’t been hitting very well in general. For the Brewers he can get a couple of starts a week and be available as a pinch hitter, pinch runner, or defensive replacement.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I think someone should ask clancyphile that question.

How excited must he be right now, even just for a day? Laughing at all of us common folk.

Can't imagine it? Yuni B at SS, Weeks at 2B, Fielder at 1B was much much worse

They didn't add Grisham to the 40 man, call him up and immediately put him in the starting lineup for 1 day or a couple of days........

As far as his defense CC was asked yesterday and he said he could play all 3 positions.....I haven't seen him so I'll go with the feedback management has gotten from Sweet and Flanagan.

Get Gamel in there for Shaw and it's beautiful.

Yes, trying to jinx myself so Shaw goes 2-3 with a homer, double, and a walk.

I thought the same thing.

Gamel 7th

Grisham 9th

Would be perfect. Let's all jinx Shaw.

No easing Grisham in. Starting in the psuedo lead off and CF. Here we go.

From what I've seen, he's plenty athletic enough to play CF, but doesn't have the arm to be anything other than a replacement-level defensive CF.

If they weren't going to play Shaw, he would not have been called back up. It's on you if you thought he'd be riding the pines against a RHP.

Say Arcia plays 8 or 9 out of 10 games. How much does starting Moose or Shaw at SS hurt you for 1-2 games out of 10?

The Brewers could really use, and might need, an offensive explosion today. I’m sure Hader is unavailable today because they aren’t going to pitch him 3 days in a row with a Cubs series coming up, so I think they’ll have trouble winning a close, low scoring game.
