2019-07-30: Brewers (Houser) at Athletics (Bassitt) [Brewers lose, 3-2 in 10 innings]

Eye Black
I'm pretty much set on hoping against all hope that Grisham is still with the brewer organization this time tomorrow...even if it means punting on any significant trades to help the mlb club.

I think you might get your wish.

That would be incredibly disappointing, the Brewers need SIGNIFICANT rotation help. Grisham would be the chip(one of them) to make that happen.

Disappointing that we don't get the pitching we so desperately need, yes. But if we don't get TOR arms, and that is plural, I don't see us in the playoffs at all this season, and trading Grisham away and not making the playoffs will be a bitter bitter bitter pill to swallow.

I'm with you on this, I don't want to trade him, I want to see him with the Brewers for the next 6 years.

Heck, it's getting to the point where I want to see him on the ML roster tomorrow.

In no way does Trent Grisham being on this roster for the next 7 years qualify as disappointing.

I totally understand the excitement of the trade deadline ... its exciting to be a part of it when you have a good team. But living and dying on the Brewers making a deal for a big "name" guy can turn toxic quick.

I have little doubt that the Brewers will likely make several moves tomorrow. And I have little doubt that there are posers here that will say it isn't enough.

For those still bemoaning Hiura being sent down earlier this season ... perhaps he is making the Brewers' case.

That said, he actually hasn't been too bad at 2B, but this inning? Yikes.

It's not pretty but I think the bat makes a bigger impact than the defense. This isn't a Santana situation, even if it is ugly.

Houser is showing well tonight. I love that arm in the pen, but he's definitely got a future as a middle-of-the-rotation type. Really nice mix of pitches, and can run it up there at 97 when he needs to. Houser right now is what I think everyone was hoping Burnes would be. Perhaps he still will be.

Are we happy with 4 IP and only one run out of Houser? I kinda am, honestly.

Probably. Can't be stretched out for much more than that.

He had a start not that long ago around 90 didn’t he? Maybe longer than I thought...
