2019-07-27: Cubs (Lester) at Brewers (Anderson) [Brewers win, 5-3 in 10 innings -- Keston Hiura walk-off HR caps come from behind win vs. Craig Kimbrel; Yelich opened 10th with tying HR]

Eye Black
Does Counsell bench coach ever weigh in and say this is stupid. Why burn Shaw there when they have a bullpen full of righties coming up?

Burn Shaw? Gamel, Thames, and Grandal are way better PH options off the bench than Shaw...

It still doesn't make any sense when 1) There was no real reason to PH there with nobody on and 2 out with no real reason to pull Chase and 2) If you're absolutely going to PH at least use a righty against Lester such as Saladino.

Exactly

This is a baffling PH by Counsell. Use Shaw in the 5th with 2 out, nobody on, with a terrible L/L matchup?

Do not question CC, ever...

Supak giving up 4 bombs in his first three innings. He’d fit right in!

He gets to learn a valuable lesson: the ball is now juiced. :ohwell

Is it not juiced in AA?

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

No.

Weird.

Someone should give the Brewers offense the memo on that.

Grisham continues to just murder AAA pitching. Too bad he's not a shortstop.

Well, we have a LF with SS experience.

Again, why is it these Cubs Pitchers always baffle the Brewers when they see them as much as anyone, yet they struggle against other teams that don't see them nearly as often. Makes zero sense.

One thing I've noticed over the last few years as the Brewer hitters handle velocity better than they handle movement.

I don't have stats to back it up but it would be interesting to see the Brewers batting percentage against fast balls versus betting percentage versus off speed.

Can someone please put together a good ab outside of Yelich or Hiura?

Cain’s walk earlier was probably the best one of the night.
