Why would anyone throw him anything down in the zone?

He is geared for down in the zone.

I thought to myself the only part of thus matchup I'm worried about is if he comes with high heat. After the first 2 strikes I hoped he would screw up somehow.

Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Hiura has such a hole in his bat on that high pitch but pitchers are having a hard time hitting that spot apparently. It’s crazy how he can look so bad on one pitch and then in that same at bat smoke one

:rolleyes Uh, clearly he doesn't.

Hiura is demolishing pitchers right now with a 1.038 OPS and people are still arguing that he has a massive hole in his swing? (Earlier in the season it was that he couldn't hit fastballs: he tied the game tonight on a 97.2 mph fastball)

He murders everything else.

I still can’t believe he got sent down this year.

Can we just sign Hiura to a six year extension now

That would probably be pointless as he is already under club control for 6 +.

If he wants to sign an Acuna type 8 year extension though, I'm all for it.

I'd try to make Hiura a Brewer for life.

He seems like he has the makeup for something like this. Baseball rat who I think will end up as a decent to good defensive second basemen.

Offer him the Albies contract right now. If he closes this season like it looks like he can, bump it up a little in the offseason. If he continues his tear next year you just keep bumping the offer up every couple of months. 8-10 years would be great.

Weird, a couple weeks ago no one really cared how the Cardinals were doing.

I guess that's probably because it's July, there are about 60 games to go, and each team in the division will have both cold and hot streaks between now and the end of the season.

I wouldn’t be that worried if we didn’t just crap the bed against a bu. H of bad teams for two months. We should be in a nice spot. Not hanging on by a thread

I don't consider tied for second one game back at the end of July hanging by a thread. ;)

Aguilar is back to being junk. Lester up there throwing 90 and Jesus is just late on everything.

He complained about a pitch clearly off the plate

Edit: then Pina walks on pretty much the same pitch.

Most of the umpires in the game today are dreadful. :tongue

I'm soooo ready to be done with Arcia as a Brewer. Just a disappointment. Awful offensively and his D is a tad overrated- at least by Brewer people. Just trade him and let Dubon play.

Yes, but who would take him off our hands? Yes, he is serviceable defensively but is horrible at the plate. His best hit tonight was that bunt in the 9th.

Honestly, if the ONLY move DS made this year was to bring in a competent SS, and ignored the Pitching, I'd be okay with that, simply because I'm so tired of watching Arcia.

I'm getting weary of watching Aguilar too...

I'm not going to go as far as to say that Kimbrel wouldn't have been a fit in the Brewers' pen, but he is being paid like an elite closer, and he is no longer an elite closer. I doubt he'd be amenable to pitching in other situations, too, as Counsell likes to do with his relievers.

Didn't the flubs sign him a long term deal? :)

my goodness is this kid special!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at Theo AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

That was the best shot of the night outside of Yeli and Hero. :laughing

He had that look as if he was asking himself why he signed him to a three year deal LOL!
