Worst Trade Article

super shaky result for the Brewers here, Cruz was awful until he was released and resigned and then got suspended for steriods. He was never good outside of Texas for the next controllable part of his career. Hard to call this one a big fail compared to most of the others in this list.

Yea, I thought it was odd they counted the WAR after he hit waivers. At that point he was basically the same as a FA signing. Would be curious what the next worst was.

I do remember the general consensus on the Carlos Lee/Cruz trade being "huh? Why?"

Trading Lee was the right call but the pieces acquired just made very little sense. Cordero was really good for us, so there's that.

Same here. Cruz was coming up at the same time or right behind Hart IIRC.

They basically throw in the qualifier that the Rangers put him throw waivers, so it's not like the Brewers traded away a ready made prospect.
