This season Hendricks has been a bit tougher on right handed batters (.631 OPS against) than left handed batters (.756 OPS against). With the addition of Shaw and counting the switch hitting Grandal the Brewers now have 7 hitters that swing from the left side versus RHP.

With the Brewers set to face LHP on both Saturday and Sunday I would guess they will really stack up the LHB versus Hendricks today. For his career Lorenzo Cain is just 4-for-18 off Hendricks with no extra base hits and no walks. I wouldn’t hate seeing Gamel get a start in CF tonight.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Hiura- 2B

Shaw- 3B

Gio- P

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I like the thought on Gamel over Cain, I just don't see it with the basically 2 full days off. Also Cain and Braun have looked better lately. I'm anticipating

Cain

Yelich

Grandal

Moose

Braun

Thames

Hiura

Arcia/Salad Man

P

I'm for a new look lineup.

Hiura is one of our best so he needs to hit more at the top... switch with Cain. Cain can still make contact and be clutch.

Hiura

Yelich

Braun

Moose

Grandal

Thames

Cain

Arcia

Shaw should probably start as he’s homered 3 times in 15 ABs against Hendricks.

Fun Fact: Listening to the Effectively Wild podcast from this week they mentioned that Gio Gonzalez has the 12th highest WAR accumulated among all pitchers from between 2010 to 2019 (just ahead of Madison Bumgarner). He has 31 WAR and counting during this past 10 year period. He was very dominant in 2012 with the Nationals, but outside of that he has been consistently good for the majority of the decade.

I’d love to get Gio back on a reasonable contract.

Cubs have just acquired Derek Holland from the Giants. He’s been miserable this year, but perhaps a bit better out of the pen. I understand lefties are batting under .200 against him, and I looked up Yelich’s stats vs Holland: 0-5. Grandal and Braun crush him, though, so he seems like a strictly situational lefty for the Cubs. Interesting timing on the move, though.

Fox Sports terminated its relationship with Sling. Really lame. Anyone use a different streaming service? I'm sure there has to be one, but there are so many I'm not aware of one that has FSNWI.

PS Vue carries FSNWI

YouTube TV as long as you set your home area to a location that would receive FSN Wisconsin on cable.

I know there's 60 or so games left but the next week and a half could be telling. The Cubs have it tough: Brewers - Cards - Brewers - A's out West. That's a gauntlet.

For the record: I don't hate the Cubs...I hate Cub fans and that old rat trap, Wrigley. I hope you sweep.

So much for Thames being hurt. Man I hate sitting Braun after a day off. He’s been one of the hottest bats.

Braun hasn't been that good against Hendricks, but I agree I would rather see him in than Thames. At the same time, they probably want Braun starting the next 2 against Lester/Quintana...and Thames and Shaw will probably sit against both. So I sorta kinda get it.

Yeah braun can't play 3 games in a row these days so I guess I can see it.

Crazy how much of Thames we’ve seen in outfield recently.

Braun has a career Ops of 600 vs Hendricks. 900 vs Quintana. Almost 1000 vs Lester. My guess is those are the numbers they’ve looked at. Really need brauns bat in that lineup, he could be a difference down the stretch.
