Yeah! Now THAT was a satisfying win!

I hope all you guys who gave up on this game either after the lineup was posted or after Woody gave up a few early runs realizes that this is why they play the games.

I'll wear this one with pride

Wins are good for the soul. A famous guy once said that. ;)

Sorry lady and gentlemen but Gamel has an option. It’s one of the reasons Stearns traded for him. Don’t assume I don’t like Gamel just because I say the brewers should CONSIDER (consider) the optioning of Gamel IF (if) Grisham CONTINUES(continues) to rake to get the better bat into the lineup. So sometime between August 1 and 31.potentially.

But Gamel doesn’t start? I’d rather have the good defensive OFer in Gamel who is doing decent for a 4th OFer who HAS defense.

Trent Grisham is nowhere nearly as good defensively and what will it take for him to be more valuable? .780....800 OPS? Pretty lofty expectation you have for a guy with little success at AA and above.

I just don’t see Grisham doing better and I don’t think we are desperate to make that move...seems like you are desperate for a change, but that doesn’t seem like the spot warranting it. If you want to throw darts at a dart board try SS.

I hope you do too. Since you’ve been ******** about Saladino a lot

I would suggest you send him a nice home cooked apple pie or maybe stand outside his window with a boom box and serenade him and ask for forgiveness

You gotta be thinking of someone else. I haven't been bashing Saladino.

I called the game over very early. I was wrong. I'm a moron. Big gutsy win!

Awe, don’t fret, we understand, 88% of us thought the game was over too, we just didn’t say it on air.

It’s an in game thread. Off the cuff comments happen all the time

People shouldn’t get too worked up

5-1 now since Stearns proclamation

If the Brewers continue to rattle off wins it’s going to be disappointing if they don’t end up making any meaningful acquisitions at the deadline. Especially after his comments.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

The costs could be pretty high this year since everyone is still in it. I’m almost with the go with the guys we have crowd and buck up and perform

We're running out of time to make that call. Only 10 days till the deadline and you know some of the key chips are going to be dealt before the last day. I hope Stearns has his team working out any and all possibilities that would land us Will Smith and MB.

To me, I'd like to see those acquisitions(or at least one impact one) made before the Cubs series next week.

He’s toying with AAA pitching, I believe he’s a left handed Hiura comp. and would succeed immediately in the big leagues. Maybe not a 70 hit tool like Hiura, but a great plate approach, High on base, power hitting bat. With him up, CC might rest the trio a little more for the stretch run and playoffs. But we’ll see if he continues his onslaught.

There is something quite unnatural about your love for minor leaguers.

Man. Now they need any acquisition to replace, rather than upgrade. Absolutely brutal.

Time to get someone RIGHT now...they will need them for the Cubs series. It's still an upgrade when Woody comes back though. They better NOT trot out one of their crap arms they have been for a game against the Cubs in place of Woody.

Burnes and Shaw will be back.

Crap

That's a 3-5 weeker. Can make it all the way to August 3 without needing a 5th starter, but with Houser/Peralta really solidifying the pen and Chacin being garbage I don't know how they can go without adding now.

Yuck on Burnes, he is NOT the answer right now...they NEED someone from the outside. If Burnes is their answer for replacing Woody(or Wilkerson or Nelson or anyone else in the system), in the heat of a pennant race than Stearns is truly an idiot. You CANNOT trot someone like that out with the ever important series against the Cubs coming up. Especially when you also currently have Chacin in the rotation.

Why does God hate the Brewers?

He doesn’t, everything happens for a reason, we just don’t know the why. Maybe this Gets Stearns to get an ace or #1 type starter at the deadline and Woody comes back and pitches 3-5 innings, twice, in the playoffs like he did last year vs dodgers? Maybe the resting of his arm makes for even stronger Woody in October?

It was a win-win for me. Instead of parking in front of the TV for almost 4 hours, after the third inning I set the DVR and took advantage of the first day this week that it was comfortable to be outside. Came back in two hours later and watched the game develop with liberal use of fast forward. I missed part of the game when I fainted after Saladino’s GS, but the score hadn’t changed anyway so I didn’t bother going back.

Just got to the end of the game. Nice win but kind of concerned about Woodruff, especially since he was set up to face the Cubs twice. The off days this Thursday and next Monday could come in handy.

I wonder if Shaw remembers how to play first base. That Thames injury looks like an instant DL.

ETA- just saw the news on Woodruff. That’s going to be hard to overcome. I was already thinking the best move for the Brewers would be to stand pat or maybe pick up a depth bullpen arm if they can do it for lesser prospects. I see their only real chance to contend without giving more too much is to hope the offense can carry the team.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Last year Anderson was out 6-7 weeks with his oblique injury.

Is this what Anderson had two years ago? He was out the better part of two months I think.
