2019-07-20: Brewers (Gonzalez) at Diamondbacks (Greinke) [Brewers win, 8-3 -- Bullpen delivers 5 scoreless innings in comeback win]

Love it when Hader works in the slider. He’s going to need that change of pace pitch down the stretch.

I've been hoping he can get that big unit slider down and in to righties going. He would be unhittable with that Randy Johnson slider and high spin rate fastball up in the zone.

Arcia hitting? How the hell did that happen? Did Counsell fall asleep?

Edit: And he walked? What alternate universe am I in?

"Didn’t necessarily mean to knock him, but he is so brutally honest that you never know exactly what he’s going to say. You just know it will typically be unfiltered honesty."

Oh ya, I wasnt knocking him either. I have always love Zach back to KC days. The unfiltered honesty that makes people feel awkward is awesome.

When Hader is blowing guys away it’s so fun to watch. Hopefully he can get through a relatively stress free 9th inning now.

Hell let's tack on 3 or 4. Save the rest of Hader for tomorrow. But bottom lineup due, so probably not

I'll gladly be wrong.

Besides Grandal, can anyone remember the last time you ever saw a catcher bat leadoff?

Off the top of my head, the only guy I can think of is Pudge Rodriguez. The Tigers experimented with it, albeit briefly, in 2007 and '08. It got some weird coverage down here in Texas. After he left the Rangers, the media had this weird fixation with him.

Piazza never did it. Buster Posey has never done it, either. It's a real rarity.

This is one of my favorites (link)...

Back in June, as the Dodgers were going through a rough stretch, Greinke and catcher A.J. Ellis tried to come up with creative ways to improve the team according to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com:

Greinke replied, “Let me think about it.” Then, while sitting on the bench during the game, he informed Ellis of his solution. The first thing I’m doing is trading you and signing Brian McCann, Greinke said, referring to the Atlanta Braves’ catcher, who is a free agent at the end of the season.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Older article, but 10 in the past decade when written.

He joins Realmuto, Russell Martin, John Jaso, Jonathan Lucroy, Derek Norris, Willson Contreras, Francisco Cervelli, Andrew Knapp, and Francisco Mejia

Braun's OPS is over .800

Has Molina ever done it? He seems like a high enough on base guy, he might have done it. I know not recently he has not.
