Severe Weather and Power Outage Postpones Rattlers on Saturday

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

"The plan is to have the Timber Rattlers and Whitecaps make up the game on Sunday as part of a doubleheader with game one scheduled to start at 1:05 PM. That plan may change if the power does not return in time for Sunday's twinbill. The Timber Rattlers will try to keep everyone updated through social media as best they can."

San Antonio Pre-Game Media Notes

***

Box: Oklahoma City 9, San Antonio 8

Travis Shaw 3-for-4, two homers and a walk. Fascinating roster manipulations on the big league horizon, no?

Lucas Erceg two doubles and a walk.

OKC Outslugs Flying Chanclas

From within -- the PCL in 2019, even in the more modest environments as the weather really heats up:

"Bubba Derby's outing continued a tough stretch for the starting rotation, which has recorded a 9.50 ERA over the team's last 10 games, yet San Antonio has won eight of those."

Good bullpen work - seems no matter who the Missions rotate into the pen, the results are almost always strong.

Oh, RHP Jacob Barnes is back after a short DL stint (June 29th placement).

Dozen Does It Again For Shuckers

File Throws Seven Quality Frames, Segovia and Caldwell Both Drive in Four

By Garrett Greene / Biloxi Shuckers

Six multi-hit games and everyone reached base at least once save for Jake Gatewood. That's not to single Jake out (although OK, admittedly it does), but fans should be aware that it's been a trying return season (major knee surgery comeback), .552 OPS and 87 K's in 210 AB's.

Otherwise, the box score for your review is pretty glorious.

Joantgel Segovia meeting AA pitching in June: .497 OPS.

July: .852 OPS.

Remember, Mobile becomes the next version of "Huntsville" next season, with the new ballpark just outside the city limits of the Brewers' former AA home.

Box: Ogden 8, Rocky Mountain 3

Alternative box includes inning-by-inning linescore

Down 6-0 after four innings...

***

From this Ogden newspaper report:

Former third-round pick Nash Walters got the start for the Vibes (13-20) and flummoxed Ogden hitters for two innings, consistent with his 1.44 ERA in six prior starts, before his accuracy got away from him in the third.

Walters issued four walks (one was thrown out stealing), setting up Brandon Lewis. On a 2-0 pitch, Walters put a fastball letter high right over the plate. Lewis appeared to be waiting for it, crushing a 457-foot bomb over the scoreboard. It was Ogden’s first hit of the night but it was good enough for a 4-0 lead.

Box: DSL Rays #2 Squad 4, DSL Brewers/Indians 1

11-30.

Co-op team had more errors (three, two by Brewers players) than hits (one).

SS Alberis Ferrer drove in the team's only run with a 7th inning single.

Only Brewer pitcher was 6'3" 17-year-old rookie Venezuelan RHP Edwin Jimenez, who fared pretty well in his four-inning start.

This was hilarious. Haven't decided yet if will positively or negatively impact Brice's placement on my BF.net midseason prospect ballot.

Meh, he isn't that good anyway. And yes, I am just completely flipping on this, from comparing him to Trea Turner to a guaranteed future bust after making me feel old. With age comes pettiness.

There was one thing in there that I had no clue about. That little white rubber ducky looking thing. Whatever that was, I had no clue. But beyond that, I think I had them all.
