ho hum, Grisham 2/2 with 2 doubles.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Yup news flash Grisham & Williams are really good, rest of system.....pretty blah tonight. Well mostly since Clancy has managed to make me not cheer for him these days, Roegnar had best game of season tonight

AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "Chris Mehring & Kyle Lobner talk about how the Rattlers managed to rally from an early 3–0 deficit to beat the South Bend Cubs. It was a combination of situational hitting, gutting through six innings from Logan Gillaspie, clutch hits by LG Castillo and Brent Diaz, and shutdown relief from Chad Whitmer and Victor Castaneda. Hear the clubhouse comments from Castillo, Diaz, and pitching coach Jim Henderson."

Box: DSL Brewers 10, DSL Cubs #2 Squad 9

Kudos to 19-year-old 6'4" rookie RH reliever Raymer Caridad, who stood out among the four Cervecerito hurlers, and netted a two-inning save.

Toby says: I see you, 16-year-old Jesus Parra

And obviously much more you can dig into offensively at the box.

That was the newly-acquired Cousins' Brewers debut, two scoreless for the win.

Eight up, eight down, stranded an inherited runner for 36th round RHP Keegan McCarville.

Best outing of the year for RHP Jhoan Cruz, who has an optical illusion going on with his hat here (or it's just too big).

Focus on the 3-4-5-6 spots in the lineup, on base nine times combined.

The game-tying two-run rally produced the only two XBH's for the Crew.

AZL Brewers Blue Top of the 8th

Arbert Cipion walks.

Arbert Cipion caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Jose Colina to shortstop Jose Tena.

Alex Hall strikes out swinging.

Andre Nnebe doubles (2) on a fly ball to right fielder Cristopher Cespedes. Cam Devanney scores.

Box: AZL Dodgers "Mota" Squad 7, AZL Brewers 2

Starting RHP Joey Matulovich walked four but allowed only one run in three innings. Would love to know more of his story (rehab, injury type).

Nightmare six-run 4th victimized RHP Yohandry Perez, who showed enough in early spring camp to spend time with the Timber Rattlers in early May (four appearances). Three of the runs were unearned.

Wonderful outing for 30th round RHP Peyton Long, stranding a Perez runner and then throwing five additional shutout frames.

On offense, six hits (three doubles) and four walks, but no runs until mop-up time:

AZL Brewers Gold Bottom of the 9th

Oswel Leones walks.

Wild pitch by pitcher Michael Martinez. Oswel Leones to 2nd.

Andres Melendez strikes out swinging.

Matthew Mika doubles (4) on a line drive to right fielder Danny Sinatro. Oswel Leones scores.

Pitching Change: Cyrillo Watson replaces Michael Martinez.

Wild pitch by pitcher Cyrillo Watson. Matthew Mika to 3rd.

Ashton McGee doubles (5) on a fly ball to right fielder Danny Sinatro. Matthew Mika scores.

Juan Martinez lines out to third baseman Kenneth Betancourt.

Francis Florentino lines out to center fielder Ismael Alcantara.
