If the season ended today the Brewers are WC2. Just sounds unbelievable with how blah things have been. I admittedly hadn't been paying any mind to the WC until very recently. It's an absolute cluster of basically the entire NL besides like two teams.

Also, not that anyone forgot last year's finish, but the Brewers were in 3rd place on September 1. They were 3.5 back on September 18.

That’s really unbelievable that they are in a playoff spot right now

8 out of 10 at some point soon and that can really solidify a spot

The bullpen has to get its act together

Time to let your 2nd best hitter bat third!

It might be this time when they don't have one of their worst hitters bat leadoff.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I would agree that if the Brewers finish 26-10 this year like they did last year, they have a great chance to make the playoffs. But, if they need a finish like that just to make the playoffs, they’re probably going to fall short.

Comparisons to last year are pretty meaningless because this year’s team is quite different, especially in the bullpen. That bullpen depth and a lot of off days in September (which they don’t have this year) allowed them to take advantage of the expanded rosters to put together that finishing surge. I wouldn’t count on that happening two years in a row.

Last year’s team was in a much better position to make a late charge because they were never less than 11 games over .500 after the middle of May, even with the slump from early July until mid August. I still expect that it will take close to 90 wins to make the playoffs because some teams are going to break from the current logjam. If the Brewers want to be one of those teams, they have to start making the move sooner rather than later.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Agreed. Cain hasnt done anything to deserve batting lead off. The problem is they dont really have a guy who fits the lead off mold. Cain from last year would make this lineup very dangerous

I actually don’t mind hitting Hiura in the 5th or 6th spots, but I hate having him in the 7th spot just ahead of Arcia and the pitcher’s spot. My problem is teams can pitch Hiura up and out of the zone hoping to get him to chase in the 7th spot while knowing that even if they walk him they only have to deal with two weak hitters behind him. The other problem is obviously if he proves to be one of your better bets to get on base multiple times you are decreasing the odds he will get driven in. Seems like seniority is trumping strategy in this instance.

Time to let your 2nd best hitter bat third!

Cain CF

Yelich RF

Huira 2B

Moose 3B

Grandal C

Braun LF

Thames 1B

Pitcher

Arcia SS

Been saying it for awhile along with many.

Huira should ahead or behind Yelich.

Thames 7th? Um...I would lead Thames off.

I would do

Thames--am really tempted to stick him in left and Aguilar at first

Huira

Yeli

Moose

Cain

Braun

Grandal

Arcia

Pitcher

Or

Cain-is hitting the ball harder and producing better

Huira

Yelich

Moose-Needs to get in gear here. I can think of a couple other options batting 4th now, Moose needs to get going to remain here.

Aguilar-He is hitting the other way with thump, might consider batting Jesus 4th, Jesus would split up the lefties and is just hitting better right now.

Braun-we need to get this old man going for the playoffs, I wouldnt mind seeing Gamel start twice a week though

Grandal-slumping just a bit

Arcia-No more Saladino

Pitcher

Now that's a real shakeup and I dont know if that would be smart to do, considering the last two games.

I would like to see ALOT more Aguilar, we need to ride his nat now. Put him 4th 5th at lowest point.

Grandal, OBP, OPS, average, everything have dropped the past 13 or 14 games. He has been slumping 7 for last 41. Huira had been on fire and he bats 7th...just stupid really stupid. Is Craig trying to show us all who is boss or what? What's his logic

Always love the posts trying to shove Braun down (some out) in the lineup after a month of OPS’ing over .900

I prefer he maintain to playing 4 times a week sometimes 3 and ramping it up the further we get. We will need him in the playoffs. And we will need him to be relatively healthy. And we need him to win.

Can I see your lineup again?

What do you think about batting Grandal 4th, Grandals biggest strength right now is drawing walks...at best...even that had slipped. Why is he batting cleanup.

Also what do you think about Huira batting 7th?

Am I the only one who is mad about this? I dont get it..you play your best hitters higher up in the line up.

So what now Arizona can IBB Huira to face Arcia? Lol, ok Craig

I know I could look, but besides Pina/Grandal, is this the same lineup as yesterday or game 2 vs Braves?

Why change what's been working.

Why bat Huira 7th, that's just so dumb.

-----------------

Ok so I looked. Huira bats cleanup yesterday day and 7th today. What does this kid have to do, haha.

Craig needs to move and keep Grandal down a but further, he had been batting him 3rd now 4th. Yes Grandal has been great at drawing walks, but he hasn't been good or even average the past 13 14 games.

Put Lorenzo in the lead off spot and kee him there. He has been hitting the ball harder latley. I think I'll die on that hill. If Cain cant keep hitting then we stent gonna make the playoffs anyway. He is the perfect, or has been for his entire career.

Craig needs to get Aguilar more at bats. Aguilar had become fun to watch hit again. I hope this hot bat rides itself out to the post season l. But he needs more at bats.

If Dubon isnt gonna get a ****, then Saladino once a week, at the most. I wish we had an insider as to why Orlando is in Craig's dog house.

Wanna keep Braun fresh for the last month surge and post season so let him play 4 times a week. Then 3 times the next week. Than 4 times the week after. Or whatever, some kinda plan that makes sure he is ready for when we really need him.

Davies is pitching tonight. I know alot of you guys could care less, but I am a bug fan of watching Davies trying to perfect his craft with less than average fastball. When Davies can control all of his pitches, he is a treat to watch.

Anyone disagree with anything I said?

Exactly, I didnt see this post. I thought I was the only one mad about this. Why even pitch to Keston? Setting him up to not produce like he had been. Keston has been on par with Yelich for best hitter on team for 14 games. 1 less HR 4, same amount of Rbis, 1 less walk, 5 more hits...and Keston bat cleanup yesterday. So bat him 7th? Dumb move

So what was yesterday the lineup ve lefties? Lol, that's the only way Keston can bat in the top 4?, pffftt
