Not sure why Supek is still in Biloxi. He got feet yet last year & has done nothing short of dominate Southern League. Same goes for Devin Williams. Not like Milwaukee couldn’t use more arms. It’s past All-Star break, get them up to AAA

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

Supak comes within one out of a no hitter again. Damn.

I don't understand moves like keeping Deolis Guerra after the DFA instead of just releasing, which then sent Griep back to AA. Actively holding back young talent from the MLB pipeline when they should be moving up to give roster spots to AAAA journeymen. I get the Smyly / Miller signings, since they have MLB success.

Could use his bat too - he's hitting .320.

I wonder the same thing. What more do guys like Supak, Williams and Griep have to prove in Huntsville? There is plenty of expendable pitching on that AAA roster.

As far as Supak, the only thing I could think of is that they think that it is better to showcase him for a trade in AA given that several guys who dominated at Biloxi last year haven't exactly had as much success in AAA (Brown, Olczak, Sanchez).

Elsewhere, it's nice to see Lindell shake off his bad first two outings. Since then he has been simply dominant.

Such bummer news, first a reminder:

The two stud Dominican Summer League rookie kid shortstops -- Eduardo Garcia (last played June 18th), and Carlos Roa of the co-op team (last played June 19th), have been missed.

***

UPDATE: Both Garcia and Roa were placed on the 60-day injured list Friday, ending their seasons.

In this notes column from the weekend, Adam McCalvy provided follow-up:

The Brewers placed two high-profile prospects at their complex in the Dominican Republic on the 60-day disabled list last week, ending their seasons. Shortstop Eduardo Garcia, No. 19 on MLB Pipeline’s list of Milwaukee’s top prospects, fractured his right ankle on a slide at second base in a game and underwent surgery on July 2 in Milwaukee with Dr. William Raasch, the Brewers’ head physician. Garcia, who signed with the Brewers for $1.1 million on his 16th birthday last July, just turned 17 last week and is rehabbing in Phoenix. He is expected to be ready to go for Spring Training 2020, Brewers farm director Tom Flanagan said.

Another shortstop, Carlos Roa, who signed for $300,000 last July, dislocated his left (non-throwing) shoulder on a swing. He is still being evaluated for the best course of action, but will miss the remainder of the Dominican Summer League season.

Box: DSL Phillies "White" Squad 7, DSL Brewers 4

Cerveceritos led 4-3 before a four-run Phillie top of the 8th.

Good to see catcher Jhonnys Cabrera back in immediately after a home plate injury scare the day before.

No earned runs allowed in six innings for RH starter Kleiber Bordones (another face to associate with the stat line).
