Are the Brewers Closer to a Rebuild than a Title Contender?

balsamlaker
The Padres, Mariners and the Rangers are some rather pathetic franchises also. The Mariners have never made it to the World Series and haven't been in the playoffs since 2001.

Honestly an argument can be made for the Brewers being the worst franchise in baseball in terms of results. The only team I consistently make the argument for being worse, is Seattle.

I say deal your entire farm this trade deadline or offseason for controllable pieces. The farm isn’t that deep and our window is small so I think it’s time to go all out.

Since the farm isn't "that deep" how are we going to be able to get impact pieces back?

:laughing This is the point. Resources are limited. Other teams don’t want our junk as much as we don’t.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I always look at it in two frames for a franchise, all-time, and recent (last decade or so)

The Brewers do have two division titles and two post season series wins in the last decade with five winning seasons so far, a reasonable amount of success. For franchise history, I tend to agree with them being one of the worst, bottom five of current MLB franchises. However, baseball is not an even playing field like other pro sports. Market size is massively important and we're also one of if not the bottom in that.

This year I think we are still closer to a contender, even with a minor move or two. After this year I think we are closer to a rebuild.

I agree with this...I dont agree with all in this year, but a few moves, and Jesus getting back to be Jesus, and Keston playing like a stud. We have a really good 1-7 especially if cain can get going. Dont forget Arcia was clutch in the playoffs last year.
