He's not likely to come up and be Knebel in Sept/Oct last year, but even when he was up for the 2+ IP this year, his stuff looked good.

I was interested to see what Dubon could do, but just not enough playing time for him. 2nd is covered, I like Arcia at SS still due to his defense(and he's still got some pop at least) and Moose has 3rd locked down.

I also don't really know if Dubon even really plays 3rd effectively at all. I'd think if a guy can play Short he could play 3rd. Only 7 game started, but, again, why move a competent defender at 2nd and SS off those two spots?

Jackson get his shot and we see where that goes up comes another 4a

What?

No habla incoherenta

I think he's trying to say that Jackson got a chance and blew it miserably. In 3 games (2.1 IPs) he gave up 5 ERs with 2 HRs. The Brewers DFA'd him and are now bringing him back (I guess that says it all about the sorry state of CC's pen). He's another AAAA type guy like Wilkerson, Smith, Orf, etc.....

They could bring up the entire pitching staff in SA and it won't make a difference. The team is littered with AAAA talent.

The supposed depth we had on our 40 this season was definitely overstated.

There's a ton of dead weight in those last 10. Diplan, Jackson, Hart, Smith, Wilkerson, Taylor, and Saladino could all be DFAed/outrighted without anyone really batting an eye. I'm being kind as there are probably 3 or 4 other names that could be added to that list.

Things have really reversed course from a supposed roster crunch. There's essentially no outfield depth on the 40, minimal infield depth, and the pitching depth is mostly dead weight.

Spangenberg has an .898 OPS and can play infield or outfield. Grisham between AA and AAA has 18 HR and an .860 OPS. So there's some OF depth. The infield? Dubon, Shaw, Perez, Orf, Hager? That's a pretty solid AAA infield.

As for Jackson's first go round? Those numbers are typical Corbin Burnes appearance. Sometimes you have to give a guy more than a couple innings to show what he has. He didn't go back to AAA and sulk. He picked up where he left off and deserves a shot.

Instead of sending Dubon down they should send Saladino back instead. What is Counsell's infatuation with "versatile" players like him and Perez??

Normally I'd say they want Dubon playing every day, but since they've more or less been splitting time at SS between Arcia and Saladino, I don't see why you don't just split that time between Arcia and Dubon. There's not really that much need for a righty backup OF more than once every few weeks, and that's really only valuable if the guy is hitting better than Gamel would which Saladino isn't.

Any chance Brewers are hoping to make a trade for a SS and maybe just want Dubon to continue to show off his talent at AAA with the hopes of trading him for something good?

Granted it's only 35 innings, but still pretty nuts that Jackson hasn't given up a bomb in AAA all season, especially considering they're using the MLB ball.

The most innings anyone has pitched in MLB this year without allowing a HR is 29 by...Jordan Yamamoto.

With him coming back over from Japan I've pulling for JJ ever since we picked him up & really hope he gets a nice run of getting guys out going.

Jackson is a guy while watching spring training that I thought looked really good. Hope he can find his groove with us because we need it.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
