That was Friday's game, and now the tropical weather on the Gulf Coast continues, thankfully it doesn't seem Biloxi is getting the full brunt, but there's still been rain and flooding of significance.

Box (so far): Wisconsin 3, Bowling Green 3, suspended after 6.5 innings

Nice five-inning start from another of the Rattlers' still-a-teenager RHP's, Reese Olson

Again highlighting a youthful staff, 20-year-old RHP Victor Castaneda, who has been so solid, puts an exclamation point on inheriting two runners:

Bowling Green Bottom of the 6th

Pitching Change: Wilfred Salaman replaces Reese Olson.

Connor Hollis singles on a ground ball to center fielder Jesus Lujano.

Chris Betts hit by pitch. Connor Hollis to 2nd.

Grant Witherspoon strikes out swinging.

Jonathan Aranda doubles (3) on a ground ball to right fielder Je'Von Ward. Connor Hollis scores. Chris Betts to 3rd.

San Antonio Pre-Game Media Notes

***

Box: San Antonio 8, Omaha 2

Third straight two-hit game for Travis Shaw, who also walked. Now, if you dig a bit deeper, both base hits were described as soft fly balls to left field. Put the bat on the ball and good things can happen. Shaw would also strike out swinging and fly out to left.

Missions Topple Storm Chasers

Jankins Moves His Winning Streak to Seven Games

You know, all of the Brewers' webisphere, including us here in Link Report Land, are not discussing RHP Thomas Jankins darn near enough. It's probably because 65 K's in 97 2019 innings isn't glamorous.

Heck, considering Jankins is a Massachusetts native, I personally should have gone all Allen Levrault-obsessive on Jankins by now. Time flies - "Meat" turns 42 next month, and while he didn't appear in the actual World Series, he did get a ring from his 2003 Marlins' stint.

Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes

Box: Wilmington 8, Carolina 7

Mudcats Waste Late Lead in 8-7 Loss in Wilmington

Carolina led 7-2 in the eighth before falling 8-7 in Saturday's series opener in Wilmington

Turns out the Mudcats should not have stranded the bases loaded to end their big six-run 7th. Pretty brutal loss. Third time in four outings closer Rodrigo Benoit has really struggled, after being near perfect for so long prior.

Box: Maryvale Blue 6, Maryvale Gold 0

So big a matchup even the Associated Press released this (seriously, but in a freaky automated way that renders human journalists obsolete - watch out, Haudricourt and McCalvy):

This story was generated by Automated Insights (http://www.automatedinsights.com) using data from and in cooperation with MLB Advanced Media and Minor League Baseball

Henry Medina, Ian Exposito and Jeyner Baez combined for a shutout as the AZL Brewers Blue topped the AZL Brewers Gold 6-0 on Saturday.

Exposito (2-0) went four scoreless innings, allowing three hits while striking out five and walking one to get the win. Joey Matulovich (0-1) went three innings, allowing one run and three hits in the Arizona League game. He also struck out five and walked two.

Up 1-0 in the fifth, AZL Brewers Blue added to its lead when Jackie Urbaez and Cam Devanney hit RBI doubles.

The AZL Brewers Blue later added single runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings to finish off the shutout.

The AZL Brewers Gold were blanked for the second time this season, while the AZL Brewers Blue's staff recorded their fourth shutout of the year.

Happy 24th Birthday to a breakout Shucker this year, RHP Alec Bettinger

Would love to see a recent scouting report on him if someone has one. Second only to Braves top prospect Ian Anderson in strikeouts in the Southern League this year; in terms of K/9, he's fifth among full-time starters behind Brendan McKay (consensus top 50 prospect), Ian Anderson (consensus top 40 prospect), Scott Moss, and Jimmy Lambert, but the latter two have much higher BB rates.
