2019-07-05: Brewers (Davies) at Pirates (Brault) [Brewers win, 7-6 in 10 innings -- Bullpen blows 5-run lead in the 9th, offense answers in the 10th]

Eye Black
This week before the AS break is notorious for the brewers playing like a dumpster fire, so any win in my book is a bonus...but yeah, it would be nice for them to start playing consistently well pretty damn soon. Nice start from Davies and it's nice to see the bats at least wake up for a night

Why the hell did we pitch to Frazier. But we won

Back in first. Hahaha. This division is special

Bad, bad managing from a very good manager. Did he think another pinch hitter was on the bench? What is his lame excuse?

I really didn't have a huge problem with that. Very rarely do you want to purposely move the tying run from 1st to 2nd into scoring position willingly, even with a pitcher coming up after. Frazier is ok, he's not Christian Yelich. Doesn't have a ton of pop. You play no doubles defense, and if he gets a hit, which he did, you still have a chance to retire the pitcher.

Needed to win this.... great bounce back by Brewers and Junior.

Did you watch the 10th? Junior was putting almost every pitch on a tee. He should go buy a lottery ticket for how fortunate he was to get 3 outs. It was atrocious.

It was Stupid ... with a capital "S." Frazier has eaten the Brewers lunch for at least a few seasons ... that pitcher on deck had no chance to do any damage. Frazier had a much higher chance to do significant damage. It was Stupid ... with a capital "S."

Right there with ya on this one. You ask Guerra to make his pitches and defend accordingly.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Yeah, one of the outs was a pitcher and the two other outs left the bats at 97.8 and 105.9 respectively. He was really bad tonight.

Our offense is more maddening to watch then Davies...

Agreed. Until recently Davies was one of our most effective pitchers and he did another nice job last night. Thankfully the guys finally scored some runs last night. Let's hope last night's hitting is a sign of things to come.

I'd love for them to win a few games here but so far this year we have been mediocre.......and lately we have been worse.

It gives me no,pleasure to say it.

Yes, we've been mediocre but outside of the Dodgers and perhaps the Braves so have the rest of the NL so far this season.

But was it CC or lousy pitches that we got away with?
