Box: DSL Rays #2 Squad 20, DSL Brewers/Indians 4

The Rays scored 20 runs on 13 hits., 13 walks, and two HBP's.

The two Brewer pitchers, RHP's Ronnald Rojas and Starling Javier, both currently sport ERA's over 16.00, neither was successful at stranding runners or limiting walks in this one.

Co-op batters walked seven times themselves, and the game ran over four hours, surely the home plate umpire was thrilled.

Brewer batters managed two hits, an Angel Bautista single and a Bryan Nino double. Fellow Brewers contributed to a total of four free passes earned by Crew members.

If we truly wanted to accentuate only the positive here, this post would be invisible.

Box: DSL Brewers 16, DSL Mets #2 Squad 4

Hey, that's better! This club has won five in a row to move to 15-12 and 4th place in their eight-team division.

It was actually 16-0 heading to the 9th inning.

Two 18-year-old rookie RHP's, both from Mexico, dazzled here. Oscar Castaneda (six innings of shutout ball) and reliever Fernando Olguin, who has yet to have a poor outing, combined for 11 strikeouts while walking just two.

Bask in the OBP train: RF/1B Juan Frias on five times, including a double, SS Joneiker Ponce de Leon four hits including a double with four RBI, 2B Jesus Parra on base four times including a double and drove in three, while CF Reidy Mercado (double) and LF Rafael Martinez (three RBI) each had three hits.

Did you get all that? There will be a quiz later this summer semester.

Walters with nice outing. Anyone remember why he missed 2 years?

From June 17th's Link Report:

"2016 3rd round RHP Nash Walters, who missed all of 2017/2018. Walters sat out '17 trying to overcome an elbow strain, but then underwent Tommy John surgery that September."

Supak Allows Just One Run Over Six Strong Innings

As you just read, one AA debut in this one.

A shame to waste a sellout crowd on this one, the Shuckers need to entice their fans best they can, as attendance has been disappointing overall.

Box: Myrtle Beach 4, Carolina 2

Another strong start by RHP Noah Zavolas, who may not be long for this level; reliever Anthony Bender made his Mudcats' debut, but not his High-A debut, a level he had reached with the Royals' organization.

Not a great offensive night for the four full-season teams, was it? They combined for 11 hits.

Anyone else catch this DSL boxscore?? The phrase "Yankees blewout the Twins" is a massive understatement...

40 runs scored in a single game at any level is noteworthy..

When the difference is THIS large (see for yourself) your eyes bug and the jaw hangs open for a moment...
