Hiura striking out 40% of the time hasn’t been any different than Shaw

Except Hiura at least is getting hits when he isn't striking out.

Shaw another 0 for 3 with 2 K gem in San Antonio. There's no need to even consider bringing him back until he shows some real signs of turning it around.

It's almost as if Counsell kind of look at the matchup and thought we aren't winning this one so let's just go with this. Tough to explain this lineup. Castillo tomorrow too. Going to be another lost series.

Wilkerson is a nice story, but he's like the Nate Orf of pitchers. He's not a big league talent.

Yep, might be the poster child of a AAAA player. Constantly has success at AAA but stuff just doesn’t translate to MLB.

I confess that I am disturbed by the strikeout rate, but when he hits it, he usually hit it hard for hits, unlike Shaw's weak contact.

Gee Craig...what did you think was going to happen going with Wilkerson in this situation?? I think if anyone needs a couple days off, it's Counsell. Just terrible managing the last couple days.

Pitch to Puig instead of loading the bases for a DP and force at home.

IBB Dietrich down 3-0.

I'm confused.

LOL!

164/278/568 is not close to where Hiura is.

Wilkerson should not be in the bullpen. He’s a starter. If their not gonna put him in the rotation, he should just stay in AAA.

Yeah, that's his issue. Not the total lack of big league quality stuff.

Out of the pen his BBs have doubled. That's not helping.

You gotta hand it to Counsell. He did everything in his power to make sure we lost these last two games. I wonder what he has up his sleeve for tomorrow.

He absolutely blew it yesterday. It was refreshing to hear him admit it, and he wasn't the only one, but he blew it yesterday. Yesterday was the one that really hurt, just finding a way to lose. Looks like another bad series now.

It is amazing that the two guys who looked pretty good when called up Donnie Hart and Burch Smith can't get a look again. Wilkerson Barnes Williams they get twenty a piece.

Smith should replace Wilkerson. Hart no, stats stink. Jay Jackson’s been unhittable since he was sent back down after his less than stellar audition. Maybe he should be given another chance. Devon Williams has been dominant, FB 95-98. He’s pitching in Sunday’s futures game.

Williams has to be on the 40 man next year I think. I would love to see him get a shot. Jackson too.

The brewers have to start making more contact. They hit homers but really not much else. Doubles, triples, singles. Nah. That’s why a team who leads the league in homers is middle of the pack in runs. Let’s start making some contact. Moving the defense. It’s too damn easy out there right now for pitchers.

Hopefully this is just a streaky team and the arrow points up soon

Is there anything more certain in baseball than once your struggling pitching staff finally starts to get going, your offense will take a crap?

Yes. The lineup the Brewers put out tonight won’t score any runs.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The frustrating part is he's otherwise been a pretty good manager this year before lastnight. I can't think of anything else so egregious that he's done. But in a league where a playoff berth can come down to one game, as evidenced by last season, you can't afford to just throw away games.

If nothing else, the Brewers crappy play over the last month has turned the division into a five team race. And the Brewers could very easily finish fifth.

How many games has this team managed to win when they don’t homer? It has to be somewhere around 5

Whatever the number it’s not enough, like last year when he went offensive at the break, hoping he does again this deadline, adding a good hitter with a good approach and calls up a player or two. This is a vastly overrated offense.
