It seems like a winning formula could be Houser twice through the order (~5 innings) followed by Freddy Peralta for a few innings.

Was just thinking... Houser Peralta piggy back would probably look nice.

It’s really too bad they’re going to jack around Houser. Should be in the pen. Could be a nice piece there. Unfortunately between injuries and underperforming arms, they go this route. Stearns and co are losing a bit of luster for me this year with the decision making going on.

Just curious. Burnes isn't ready. Peralta is a pen guy. If Houser too is a pen guy. Who starts?

Davies, Woodruff, Anderson?

Chacin fell apart, Gio is injured, Jimmy is injured, Wilkerson hasn't been given the shot.

They started with 10 options. Going 2 for 9 is hard to do. Some may even call it highly unlikely.

Slightly ironic that it’s the right-handed hitters with the two bombs off Mahle tonight who has been much tougher on right-handed bats this season. Has given up a .897 OPS to lefties coming into tonight.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Houser is a stud. He solves another rotation spot. If you believe Anderson and Davies to be ok, that leaves Chacín as the weak link.

It's great to be excited about guys but I think we sometimes fall in love with certain guys and really jump the gun on them. I like Houser. But we are a long ways from knowing what he is yet, much less proclaiming he solves a rotation spot. He has like 50 MLB innings.

Are we re-signing Thames? I never thought I’d be asking that

He has a 7.5M team option for next year and I really have no reason at this point to think it won't be exercised. So probably a Brewer next year, then who knows.

There stretching him out. First time out 60 pitches, this game 70+, next game 80+, he’ll get there.

Excellent, I was unaware of that. It’ll be interesting to see if aguilar and Shaw are around. Looks like the second half will decide that.

Is this the new young guy you love? He's not that good. He's a FB CB pitcher. The slider and change are't good enough.

Chacin isn’t going anywhere. And he looked much better his last start. He’s got a track record of being a guy that can turn it around. I would’ve went back to Peralta in the rotation before Houser. At no point in his minor league career was Houser ever a good starter. It felt like they finally found his niche for us.

Woody, Davies, Chacin, Anderson, Peralta would be it for me right now. Heck, I would’ve thrown Burnes back in there before Houser.

He has 2 FBs, 2 good breaking pitches and good command. Checks ALL the Boxes for mid rotation starter or better. Brewers wanted him a starter all along, put him in the pen out of necessity, they know what they have.
