Today better be the salvage day. If the Brewers can’t win with their best starter on the mound it isn’t going to be easier against the lefty tomorrow. He pretty much handcuffed the Brewers the last time he faced them.

Counsell and his ax to grind with Arcia is growing tiresome. If they really are going to bench Arica then it should have been Dubon up playing. Ridiculous.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Yeah this Arcia thing is a bit weird. It's not like he's been Shaw level struggling lately. You don't bring someone like Arcia off the bench, you either start him here or in AAA, and if it's AAA I agree you call up Dubon for him.

This just ...doesn't really make much sense. Unless they think that Saladino has suddenly morphed into a great hitter, you might as well have just kept Perez and plugged him in every day at SS if you wanted to get Arcia out of the lineup.

I really wonder if the chemistry on this team is going down the drain.

I also think that the Grandal leading off gimmick has played out. I’ve always had the opinion that the order in which guys bat doesn’t make that much difference as long as you aren’t doing really stupid stuff like putting your best hitters at the bottom.

The team isn’t scoring because Grandal and Yelich have both had quiet weeks and nobody is picking up the slack. If nobody is hitting you aren’t going to score plain and simple. Batting the injured Cain fourth last night seemed ridiculous, yet he surprisingly got the big hit that led to their two runs.

Arcia had 3 big hits, including 2 HRs in the last two wins, but he’s on the bench now. Go figure.

The phrase, “an axe to grind” is a common idiom in the English language.

The proper definition according to the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary & Thesaurus is, “to have a strong personal opinion about something that you want people to accept and that is the reason why you do something.”

Let me use it in a sentence as an example...

Several posters on the popular Internet forum known as Brewerfan.net ridicule each other to no end at the detriment of the forum’s well-being because they have an axe to grind with one another.

In this specific case Brew4U meant that he believes Counsell has something against Arcia.

Hopefully that helps clear things up. Now lets have a great night in the IGT!

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Well, I appreciate your efforts! I really do! But, I k :laughing new that already!

:laughing

I want to know what Counsell's axe is that he is grinding.

What is Counsell supposedly upset about with Arcia?

That is my question.

Thank you, again. :)

In that case it came across sort of snide, so let me give you a better approach for next time...

New & Improved Response: Counsell having something against Arcia is an interesting opinion, and one I had never really considered. I don’t think I necessarily agree with it, but I would be curious to know what past evidence or examples you have come across that support that idea? Thanks in advance for your thoughtful response.

Oh, boy ... how is asking, "Can I aks what this ax is that is being ground, supposedly?" being snide? It's an honest and inoffensive question. If I was on the receiving end of that question, I would not have considered it snide, in the least.

Very interesting comments I just heard pregame on Arcia.

Counsell basically came out and said they haven't been happy with Arcia's defense and it isn't meeting expectations. So they want to see if someone else can help there.

What hasn't been said is why that opportunity isn't going to Dubon. Maybe they're hesitant to trust a rookie -- but it's not like things are going well anyway.

Now, that is very interesting!

Thank you for posting this ... BA and Rock are always bragging about Arcia's defense ... very interesting.

I don't listen to the radio broadcasts ... does Levering or Uecker ever make it sound as though Arcia is not playing good defense, I wonder?

I love this, good way to send the message to Arcia: focus, get your head out of your butt, stop the boneheaded plays. Saladino gave Arcia a clinic in yesterday’s game. This will push Arcia defensively.

On the pregame show for the Yankees-Red Sox London series game today Mr. October, Reggie Jackson, told A-Rod he was picking the Brewers and Yankees to win their respective league pennants this year. That would certainly make the past few weeks a distant memory.

I may forgive Reggie Jackson of all his antics against the Brewers and pitcher Mike Caldwell back in the 1980's for that prediction! I hope he is right, of course! :)
