The Pirates are playing this series perfectly. They know the Brewers will lose the first two and they have their lefty lined up for the sweep on Sunday.

I disagree. We are going to salvage a win on Sunday after losing the first two. It's the Brewer Way.

There’s no game on our 10 pack this weekend so I won’t be there to bring home the salvager.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Not overly optimistic the Brewers are going to win this one.

Would make five straight series opening losses at least.

It’s six. And 10 of the last 13.

The Pirates are the only team the Brewers have won a series against in the last 13, and now they can’t beat them either.

Maybe if Shaw had been in the lineup they could have picked up another run or two.

How did he do for San Antonio today?

Just checked on this myself ... he did not start and is still on the bench as of the 8th inning ... Missions are down 9-1.

This bullpen is terrible. Hader basically has to get the game to himself by pitching 2 innings every time?? Accountability please Mr. Stearns. Knebel has been out since spring training.

It would be hard for the 1990 Nasty Boy Reds to need to get 12 outs every single game.

Cain needs time off > IL

Grisham rostered then plays

Pina DFA’d > Freitas up

Cain is hurting this team by trying to play thru these injuries. Everybody can see he’s not right except CC.

Pina’s ave lower than Shaw’s. Meanwhile there’s a catcher in AAA hitting 3rd with a .368 ave. With good D.

I don’t know, but isn’t that what some folks said about Hiura when he was in San Antonio?

Bringing Hiura back was obviously the right move, but this team’s problems run a lot deeper than one player. And now that Grandal and Yelich have gone cold there isn’t much punch in the lineup.

On the bright side, we didn't score in the 1st and never score again and lose in the 18th like the Twins last night. On the not so bright side, our lineup should be made to suffer for another three hours.

Oddly, if the Brewers win the last 2 they'd finish June with a .500 record. I've been hanging out in the IGTs too much as that seems impossible.

Considering the slate loaded with losing teams a .500 record in June is a major fail.

9-2. Grisham homered again.

This is a mediocre baseball team, folks.

I completely agree. This is a stars and scrubs roster and when the stars have off nights we can't win. Yelich, Grandal, and Moustakas have to produce every night or we can't score and Hader has to pitch two innings for us to win.

Counsell said Jeffress should have gone home with the grounder. I thought the same, it would have been a difficult double play and that late in the game you have to keep the go ahead run off the board.
Not just “at Night” anymore.
