Aguilar slapping singles is okay but really doesn’t do much. He needs to find the power stroke to really add something of value.

I agree, but he's not striking out much and taking BBs as well. The power should come with an approach like that. Still, it looks like Thames has nailed down the first base spot against righties, relegating Aguilar to the spot start and pinch hitting, which is a pretty limited role.

Cain will probably be in the DL before the All Star break.

I'd be more than fine with this. Give the guy some extended rest to heal up properly. Plus give Hiura a chance to come up and rake. Perez can handle the 4th OF duties for a week or 2, with Thames the emergency OF.

Agreed. Best for everyone.

Put Shaw on the IL instead of Cain. His ego must be injured by now.

He’s now mayor of stinky-dink city.

Shaw ... I am sure you are a good guy/husband/father. Time to be a good Brewer and ask for a demotion.

Management is just too sentimental! This is not Little League!

Cain didn’t break out of the box well. Needs to pep up even though he’s struggling.

We salvaged another series with a victory...lol

better than a sweep I guess.

That’s the MO. Lose the first two games of a series against a crappy team and then salvage one with Hader having to go two innings to nail it down. Thus making it harder to win the first game of the next series.

The two Pirates series represent the Brewers only series wins out of their last 13. If they lose 2 or 3 to the Pirates this weekend we’ll know for sure they are fading.

The Pirates will be coming in after scoring 24 runs in their last two wins over the Astros, and they have a lefty lined up to win Sunday’s game. Might be tough for the Brewers to win one.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Kimbrel gets his first Cub strikeout on a pitch several inches outside. If he’s going to get those calls you might as well hand the Cubs the pennant. The ump really Frank Drebbined that one.

I think one of the best arguments in favor of an automated strike zone if it’s even close to as accurate as the umps is that it eliminates certain hitters and pitchers and home crowds getting favorable treatment.

While we’re at it, more moves:

1.) Option Claudio > roster Perdomo and bring him up.

2.) DFA/Trade Pina > call-up Freitas

3.) option Arcia > bring up Dubon

Claudio is terrible, Perdomo has upside. If Perdomo doesn’t work it’s ok, Stearns can acquire a stud pen arm.

I know it’s the back-up catcher, but, if Freitas can actually hit, it free’s Grandal to play 1B vs LHP, and makes us that much stronger vs lefty’s.

Maybe Dubon is a .300 hitter and can play steady if unspectacular D.

DFA a guy that has options. You’re really on it tonight.
