So who had Matt Albers in the pool to end the Brewers 18 consecutive innings of allowing base runners streak?

Albers now with 5 straight scoreless appearances in a row (his last 5.1 innings pitched).

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I like Ben Gamel as a backup, but that is what he is ... a backup.

Firstly: Santana was only a back up for the Brewers.

Secondly: Santana is a complete and total butcher defensively.

Thirdly: His butcherness defensively negates his masterful hitting over Gamel.

I agree with JMB, your fondness for Domingo has grown almost to an obsession.

This whole Santana thing is weird. No he's not a good defender but he's also never been as bad as he's been this year. So did he just suddenly become the worst defender ever or is it a blip? I don't know the answer but I do know that last year Bryce Harper had a -10 DRS in 477 innings in CF while having a +13 DRS in his first 918 innings in CF and he had a +9 DRS in his first 4,000 innings in RF and then fell off to -16 in 860 innings in 2018. But this year he's come back and has been perfectly average in RF.

So I don't really know why Santana has been so bad this year. Nagging injury, some sort of shift where the balls are hit just out of reach that others would be able to get that he can't but I would bet on him getting back to not good but passable defender than I would bet on him being unplayable dumpster fire.

I am obsessed with the Brewers being the best team possible, yes!

We are better with Domingo over Gamel!

Yes!

That's my opinion!

Please excuse me while I beat a dead horse for a moment...

This is exactly the type of night where having Hiura’s right-handed power bat in the lineup, even somewhere in the #5-#7 spots, would be very helpful. LHP Wade LeBlanc went 5 innings, and now they are going to face the Mariners closer, LHP Roenis Elías for 2 innings. The bottom half of the Brewers order isn’t intimidating whatsoever and they only have lefty hitters on the bench.

I fear opponents are going to continue adjusting their staffs to trot out every lefty they can find as long as the Brewers keep up with this odd roster construction. I may not have agreed with every roster move this team has made over the last couple years, but most can be easily explained. Keeping Hiura in the minors simply cannot.

And the right handed 2nd baseman that we do have on the roster hacks at Ball 4 six inches off the outside corner which would have brought the tying run to the plate because that's exactly the kind of thing Hernan Perez has done his entire career.

Are we really going to lose this game 3-2?

Man offense not getting it done tonight......so far

Going to be a grandal walk off.

Nevermind.

I'm going back to being negative Nancy again. Trying to be positive just doesn't work for me.

The shame of this collapse is the Cubs are still in neutral and so are the Cards. Brewers with component roster management and a couple of decent arms could be putting some distance between themselves.

This is foolish talk. We are right in the middle of the race. No need to pull away.
