In 21 games in June, the Brewers have given up 5 or more runs in 12 games; and lost 9 of those 12.

The two 8-7 losses have been the hardest to swallow among those outcomes.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

It’s not even the pitcher not going 5 innings; it’s the fact Davies buries the team early in the process. Now the bullpen has to cover 5 innings in a likely loss

I assume they will ride Wilkerson for awhile and then option him after the game. I would guess if it remains a blowout that Jimmy Nelson will likely throw some pitches tonight as well.

This really looks like a Doug Melvin roster; a bunch of soft tossing pitchers and a stars and scrubs lineup. We may have to consider seeing what we can get for Hader and maybe even Yelich.

Whoa. You see how the Brewers treated Braun when he was a stud. Yelich getting a street named after him.

He didn't pitch well, but the defense buried them. If Arcia makes that play in the 3rd, evrything is different...perhaps pitch around Vogelbach and don't give up the homer...then obviously the 2 runs in the 4th were all on the defense.

The team got lucky with their pitching staff last year. Chacín has a career year, Miley revitalized his careee, Gio was a shot in the arm. Even Anderson was okay despite giving up a ton of homers.

This year they just don’t have the horses in the rotation, which subsequently exposes the middle inning relievers having to pitch earlier and more often

I think most people recognized they did get lucky last year, but nobody expected consistent shelling like this. It's hard to say the offensive isn't a huge disappointment either outside of a couple guys.

If they didn't have 4 duds on offense they will probably still be +10 even with this pitching.

I would start by kicking Hook to the curb. Practically every pitcher on this staff has regressed badly under his watch.

which, by the way, has nothing io do with the departure of Derek Johnson.

It's also pretty annoying to see how we have managed this roster. Not that it matters with this pitching staff getting crushed nearly every night but a supposed playoff contender should not have the best right handed bat in the organization in AAA while Shaw, Aguilar, and Perez flail away every night.

Nah we don't miss Johnson at all.

[sarcasm]Or the level of talent on the staff apparently.[/sarcasm]
