Cain hasn’t played since Saturday (June 22nd), so if they decided to put him on the 10-day IL he would be eligible to return Wednesday, July 3rd vs. the Reds. They don’t have another off-day until the All Star Break, so playing shorthand for even a few days isn’t ideal.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

If Domingo makes a diving catch it will be because he hesitated when the ball was hit, took two steps back then frantically rushes in.....no, he still wouldn't dive. Despite him playing deeep in RF the wall is too far back there to rob a HR too. He'll just turn around and try to play it off the wall.

The bashing of Domingo Santana and relative love for Ben Gamel is rather ridiculous in this forum!

:laughing

Domingo has 13 more homeruns, a 28-point higher batting average, 42 more RBI's, and 4 more stolen bases!

If the guy could play first base it would have been great had they moved Aguilar instead of Domingo last year. But from all accounts the Astros tried that in the minors and it went very poorly. The guy can't play in the NL.

& he has negated most of his positive offensive contributions by being the worst defensive OF in MLB.

Domingo: 347 PAs of 129 wRC+ with -15.3 fielding = 0.8 WAR so far or 1.4 WAR/600 PAs.

Gamel: 191 PAs of 91 wRC+ with -0.4 fielding = 0.5 WAR so far or 1.6 WAR/600 PAs.

They provide similar value (in different ways).

Domingo looked clueless on Braun's double...that one had a 32% catch probability but he was nowhere near it.

Then dropped it while trying to pick it up just to ensure Braun didn't have to sprint to 2nd.

[sarcasm]Quiet thread tonight.[/sarcasm] Just kidding, glad were back in business.

Arcia barreled that last ball up nicely, have to tip your cap to Mallex Smith on the running catch.

That play in the first was a good example. Looked like he never played the outfield before. We should have loaded the lineup with lefties and had them pull away.

I don’t know what it is but I have no trust in Davies

It's because he's a soft tosser that will get shelled if his location is off even in the slightest.

Exhibit A.

The bigger problem is that this description describes 4/5 or our rotation.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
