It’s hard to win in baseball; last year the Brewers won a lot of one run games and got lucky with their pitchers; this year not so much so far

To be fair, last year Hader would have pitched that inning and the outcome would have likely been different.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

We're 10-5 in one run games this season, and our Pythagorean is 37-36. Luck and our record in 1 run games hasn't been the issue. If anything we should be worse.

Like I said earlier today, this team just isn't fun to root for this season. Too many stupid things like that Machado pop up and terrible ABs with RISP (looking at you Orlando) and poor pitching. The talent is there but the execution is significantly lacking this season.

I don’t understand why you guys watch with this type of attitude. I get being upset that they’re losing to some extent but I don’t quite get how watching baseball isn’t enjoyable.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

every contending team in the NL will be in on Smith. Not sure it’s worth the cost if the team continues to get bludgeoned by contending teams

My prediction is the Brewers end up with their annual White Sox bullpen acquisition which would likely be Álex Colomé this time around.

Why would watching bad baseball be enjoyable? Especially if you go to the park and shell out 250 bucks. If you are on this board you love baseball. Don't think that means you have to love bad baseball and can't call it out.

Baseball is enjoyable almost all of the time. However, when you watch your favorite team that you live and die with daily play with a complete and total lack of fundamentals it becomes quite aggravating. If this were the Athletics making these mistakes playing against the Indians, I wouldn't care at all and would thoroughly enjoying the game.

This would be good!

Care to elaborate on how having the 3rd best record of 15 NL teams is “bad baseball” ?

It’s not. It’s just expecting something and not seeing it happen. Many had way too high of expectations and it’s ruining a time in Brewers history for them. Maybe some re-runs of the early 2000’s would help during rain delays or something.

I am referring to this trip for the most part. However run difference tells a more accurate story and I don't believe this team is as good as it's record. The reality is the NL isn't very good overall so teams like the Brewers should be able to carve out a record a few games over 500. The arrow is not pointing up for this team until reinforcements arrive.

I keep hearing people say yeah but we used to be so much worse in the old days. We are 5 games over 500 celebrate and enjoy. You be excited. You wonder why this organization has 3 division titles in 40 years. The fans are cool with being competitive.

This has been one of the more frustrating games of the season. That clown play of letting Machado's pop up fall for a single followed by a walk and a home run had me swearing at the TV (well, watching on a computer screen, but same thing). We have hit a kind of "boiling point".......not just with our collective fandom emotions, but they are right at that time where the decisions we have all been musing about (Hiura, Shaw, Aguilar) are due. Add the fact that the starting rotation has become so uncertain (performance and who will be in it, who wont)...... Yeh, I feel like the sky is falling.. and bad things are looming ahead.................instead of holding that "we are in first, things have to get better" fantasy.

Maybe I'll try watching the Diamondbacks for a few games. This is too frustrating for me.
