I do hope that David Stearns is not of this opinion. He can't be fooled by that fact. This team is not very good.

LOL ... how long have you actually been a Brewer fan? Calling this team not good is an insult to the Selig-Preib years of futility.

It’s all about expectations, or lack thereof back in the early 2000s. There were high expectations after last year, and this team is not as good as last year’s team.

Why does it matter that they’re in first place. You’re watching a singular game. Would you rather people just not post when they’re playing bad?

And yes, if it bothers you, ignore it. People shouldn’t kowtow to people that don’t like when others point out anything negative.

Do you think Orioles fans should never post anything positive in oriolefan.net game threads because they suck?

Of course people can post about being disappointed during a game. i think its the blanket "this team sucks" or "I can't believe this is a winning team" stuff that gets old. But yeah, people express frustration in all different ways. Like I said above, I'm wrong. I apologize. Bash on.

Exactly. Shouldn't have to be explained.

I also remember many fans saying the season was over after they dropped 5 against the Pirates last year. Saying this year's team isn't as good as last year's is one of those blanket statements that's also thrown out there a lot. Whole lot of season left to make that determination.

Arcia needs some days off ...

Shaw needs some weeks off ...

Moose might be forced to have some weeks off ...

It's time for Saladino and Hiura, baby!

Let's go, Brewers!

Play the hot bats.

Freeze the cold bats.

Probably my biggest frustration right now stems from the fact that we knew we had a gauntlet of LHP coming up on this trip. We knew we had a weapon that could be useful against said gauntlet, we chose not to use him. And here we are, struggling to score runs against that stretch of LHP.

This is Arcia's 4th year. It's possible a light turns on for him at some point. It's more likely that we're just in "this is who he is" territory with him.

True. If a light bulb doesn't turn on after almost 4 years it's likely burned out. It ain't turning on.

There's a BIG difference between throwing out the blanket "this team is not very good", and saying this team isn't as good as the one that won 96 games last year. Given the difficult first part of the season schedule, I imagine most fans would be more than happy to have the team with a record where's its currently at. Yeah, they are having a bad trip. They'll play better soon.

This is the toughest pill to swallow, IMO. It’s impossible to know if any of these game results would have been different, but at least you would have been giving yourself the best possible chance to score runs throughout these six games on the west coast, five of which were against left handed starting pitchers.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I think it's possible this is just a bad stretch. The problem is they don't seem to be all in on winning now when you look at the roster management. You can't demote good players that can help for players who are mot helping and then expect the fan base to just be like nothing to see here. Play your best players. We all can live with the results a bit better if that happens.

Getting tougher and tougher to justify that the move wasn't motivated by save a few million dollars a few years down the road. And as a fan, that sucks.

Imagine trading Fernando Tatis Jr. for the crap years of James Shields.

So I guess in the grand scheme of things it could be worse than stinking up a few games on the west coast.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I agree with you there ... 100%. I get why Stearns loves those lefty power bats, as they play really well at Miller Park. But he may have gone overboard, which is being proven in this series. Of course, it doesn't help that the guys who are supposed to be able to hit lefties aren't hitting lefties right now.
