How is FRAA calculated and how reliable is it?

I assume that stands for Fielding Runs Above Average? Is that a BP stat?

It is Fielding Runs Above Average, and it is a BP stat. I have not been able to find any discussion of it on their website.

I think just like how WARP figures out wins above replacement player rates one's offence, the FRAA is the same stat but taking into account defence. I'm still looking for exactly how it's calculated.

Unfortunately, BP generally doesn't tell us how they calculate their stats. I suppose its because they 'sell' them.

WARP incorporates FRAA (actually FRAR), you're think of VORP. Its a run measure based on something similar to Utimate Zone Rating from whet I can tell. Basically calculates what balls the average player gets to versus the given player. It bounces around a lot year to year so its overall value is somewhat suspect.
