Timely hit from Aguilar would've been nice, but glad to score in the first.

(Jesus Aguilar) needs to be sent down or cut

He didn't strike out. That's like a Yelich HR...

Maybe a Hiura home run?

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Not sure I've seen a Peralta game in a while (or just haven't been paying attention), but seems like he has more velo today on average than I'm used to seeing.

I thought he was more 90-92, and then maybe a few times an inning you'd seen 93-95. Seeing more in that 93-95 range with regularity today. He seems to be locating well today too.

Fastball Freddy: 39 out of 44 pitches. Throwing that unimpressive curve 11% of the time is about right for a third pitch, but he has no second. They've really got to get him to figure out a change, or maybe a splitter.

Oh look, Yelich hit a homer. Must be a day ending in y! :)

Because we're awash with better options?

Nelson should have started this game. Instead they push him back to sat 10 days between starts, when he needs to pitch to work out command issues. Puzzling pitching decisions lately by this team.

No, because I'd been looking forward to this series since I saw the schedule and I hate watching him pitch. With just two games and a day off before and after, I was hoping it'd wind up our 2 best starters. Not that I expect them to swing the rotation around to my liking, but this is pretty much exactly the kind of start I expected.

I wouldn't say we know this at all. Jimmy is rebuilding strength and command, and can do that working in the pen. 10 days off would yield 2-4 strong side sessions in a controlled environment. Heck, for all we know he may be available for 2 innings today or tomorrow.

Aguilar was in the home run derby one year ago. Now with the balls juiced to the most extreme levels that records are broken daily the guy can't touch the warning track. Something just isn't right. There has to be more to the story than he sucks.
