AUDIO via the Rattler Radio Soundcloud: "In Friday's Postgame Podcast, Chris Mehring & Kyle Lobner discuss Thursday's extra-inning win at Kane County and Kyle drops an amazing number for Chad Whitmer's WPA from that game. The duo turns their attention to the action on Friday and shine the light on the performances of the players. In the Clubhouse Comments, Aaron Ashby has thoughts on the oddity of his start and his promotion to Carolina; Wilfred Salaman has thoughts on how he shook off the nerves to toss five scoreless innings in the nightcap; and Matt Erickson….he has thoughts, too!"

Box: DSL Pirates #1 Squad 5, DSL Brewers/Indians 4

No Brewer hurlers in this one.

Red-hot-to-start his career 3B Carlos Roa (9-for-18) exited early, and we'd see he did not play the next day (Saturday).

DSL Indians/Brewers Top of the 5th

Carlos Roa singles on a ground ball to left fielder Eliazer Montero.

Wild pitch by pitcher Braham Rosario. Carlos Roa to 2nd.

Junior Sanquintin strikes out swinging.

Francisco Gonzalez singles on a ground ball to right fielder Luis Tello. Carlos Roa scores.

DSL Pirates1 Bottom of the 5th

Defensive Substitution: Elian Gonzalez replaces third baseman Carlos Roa, batting 2nd, playing third base.

***

Other than Roa, the three other batters in the box with two hits apiece, are all Brewers farmhands.

I love the retrospective link reports. Site issues? They matter not to the infallible MaasHaas.
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006
