Box: DSL Red Sox #2 Squad 7, DSL Brewers/Indians 2

Pro debut:

17-year-old 6'3" Venezuelan RHP Edwin Jimenez did not allow a hit in 3.1 innings, striking out five. In fact, Jimenez was perfect through three frames. However, he walked three in the 4th and his Brewer bullpen mate, 2nd-year pro Starling Javier, allowed three of Jimenez's runners to score.

Little else stood out here. The co-op team has now lost five in a row after a 2-0 start to the season.

Box: DSL Diamondbacks #2 Squad 6, DSL Brewers 2

Brewers fall to 1-6, so the two squads are struggling early on. Only two hits in this one, but three players reached base twice (OF Reidy Mercado walked twice as the DH, 3B Jesus Parra HBP twice, and SS Branlyn Jaraba doubled and was HBP.

RHP Junior Montero bounced back from his last outing on Thursday when he walked all five men he faced. Three scoreless here, nice work, coaching staff!

Kudos to Tyler Saladino, David Freitas, and Jay Jackson, as you just read. But in case you didn't click (always click!), here you go:

Keston Hiura added some insurance when he blasted a two-run shot in the ninth inning that cleared the swimming pool area and exited the stadium. It was Hiura's team-leading 13th homer of the year and his second since rejoining the club from Milwaukee earlier on the current road trip.

File Tosses Another Gem and Henry Totals 3 RBI in 7-3 Win Versus Salem

The Mudcats won their second straight behind File's second straight quality and victorious outing

It's a shame that the Rangers' High-A team, Down East, ran away from the pack in the division this spring. Despite a wonderful first half, the Mudcats franchise will seek to end a lengthy playoff drought when the second half begins.
